Soon after the video went viral, users, within no time, bombarded the comment section and praised the actor.

The video came amid the ongoing Javed Akhtar controversy on social media.

The veteran Indian artist recently made a visit to Lahore and was a keynote speaker at Faiz Festival organised to celebrate the renowned Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz.

During the event, Akhtar slammed Pakistan over the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai and said the perpetrators of the attack are still roaming freely in Pakistan despite several complaints by India.

The lyricist also said Pakistan never organised any event for Lata Mangeshkar despite India organising big events for Pakistani artists like Mehdi Hasan and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Pakistani singer Ali Zafar was also a part of the event and was spotted singing along with Akhtar. The singer later thanked the lyricist on social media which triggered massive trolls from his Pakistani fan.

Ali Zafar later put out a clarification note on his Instagram handle and said he is proud to be a Pakistani and would not appreciate any statement against his country or people, especially at an event which was meant to bring hearts closer than further.

He further slammed Akhtar and called his remarks uncalled for which can deeply hurt the sentiments of so many people.
