Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid kicks off controversy with Kashmir Files comments
The film ‘The Kashmir Files’, released on March 11, 2022, is based on the 1990 Kashmir insurgency.

Kicking a major controversy, Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid called Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files as a vulgar and propaganda film.
Lapid made the above remarks at the conclusion ceremony of the 53rd Film Festival held in Goa on Monday. He is the jury head of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
The filmmaker further said all of the jury members were upset as such a film was screened at the festival. The film is very vulgar, he added.

In his statement, he said the jury was shocked and disturbed by the film Kashmir Files. It felt to them like propaganda, a vulgar movie, inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival, he said.
Lapid further continued and said he felt totally comfortable sharing openly his feelings with the audience on stage since the spirit that is felt in a festival can truly accept also a critical discussion which is essential for art and for life.

About The Kashmir Files
The Kashmir Files, released on March 11, 2022, is based on the 1990 Kashmir insurgency. The film depicts the story of the exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Hindus. Stars like Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi and Mithun Chakraborty have played lead roles. The Kashmir Files did good business. It earned more than Rs 290 crore at the box office.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the film in the BJP parliamentary party meeting. He had said that such films should continue to be made as the truth is revealed through them. Efforts have been made to suppress the truth about Kashmir which is shown in the film.
Countries that banned The Kashmir Files
New Zealand
The film has been banned in New Zealand. The film was earlier approved for release with an A certificate, but after a review on the demand of the Muslim community, the censor board decided to ban the film.
Singapore
Vivek Agnihotri’s film was about to be released in Singapore, but the film was banned by the censor board there. After this news came, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor took a jibe at Vivek Agnihotri and at the BJP.
He said that the film has a one-sided portrayal of the wrong image of Muslims and the persecution of Hindus in the ongoing conflict in Kashmir. The film has the potential to create enmity between several communities and harm brotherhood.

Kiara Advani who shares a close bond with ace designer Manish Malhotra, chose him over Sabyasachi on her big day. The actor is looking great in WHITE| RED| PASTLE coloured lehenga while Sid can be seen wearing Sherwani. Continuing the Bollywood tradition, the couple wore colour-coordinated attires on their wedding.

The Bollywood couple got married on February 7 in Jaisalmer’s Suryagarh Fort. Several Bollywood celebrities like directors Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty, actors Shahid Kapoor, Ramcharan Teja and Shahid’s wife Mira attended the wedding. Varun Dhawan, Natasha Dalal and Kiara’s friend Isha Ambani also attended the wedding.
The pre-wedding functions of Siddharth and Kiara’s wedding had started from February 5. Famous mehndi artist Veena Nagda had reached Rajasthan to apply mehndi to the Kabir Singh actor.

Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani officially tied the knot at Suryagarh Palace in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer on Tuesday, reports said.
Several photos and videos of the wedding are doing rounds on the internet and paparazzi who were allowed to enter the wedding venue have confirmed the news. However, the couple is yet to confirm their wedding with their official photos on social media.
In the viral photos and videos, the regal mandap can be seen all decked up with flowers, lights, and pink curtains. The mandap was set at the bawari in Surayagarh Palace where all the wedding festivities took place.

Rishab Shetty announces Kantara 2, here’s what to expect from the film
Rishab Shetty had earlier won the National Film Award for Best Children’s Film at the 66th National Film Awards for Sarkari Hi Pra Shaale, Koduge: Ramanna Rai, and Kasaragodu.

Rishab Shetty’s directorial Kantara became one of the most successful pan-India films in the history of Indian Cinema. After the smashing success of part 1, Shetty is all set to come up with its prequel and fans can’t keep calm.
The actor-director announced the news during an event in Bengaluru that was organised to celebrate the 100-day theatrical run of Kantara.
Speaking at the event, Shetty thanked his fans for the immense love and support he received for Kantara. He further revealed that what was seen in Part 1 is actually Part 2 and Part 1 will hit the silver screen next year.
Shetty also opened up about the idea and said it came to his mind while shooting Kantara because the history of the film has more depth to it. Speaking about the filming, he said the makers are currently getting more details and the research for Kantara’s prequel is underway.
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, the Kannada action-thriller became a blockbuster hit in 2022 and emerged as the second highest-grossing Kannada film of all time. Set in Keradi in coastal Karnataka, the film revolves around the Bhoota Kola practice.

The film stars Rishabh Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, and Kishore in the lead roles. After the success of its Kannada version, the makers announced its dubbed Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam versions as well. The domestic net collections of all the versions crossed Rs 200 crore in 30 days, reports said.
Kantara also made it to the list of feature films eligible for the Academy Awards 2022. The film got its entry in the Best Picture and Best Actor categories.
