Bollywood director Karan Johar hosted a lavish birthday party on May 25 at Yash Raj Films studios in Andheri West, Mumbai. Karan’s 50th birthday celebration was no less than an award show. The celebrities dressed up in exquisite outfits, gleaming and glittering for the occasion in a more glamorous way. But who knew the star-studded event would turn out to be a Covid-19 hotspot?
If reports are to be believed, almost 50-55 guests present at KJo’s party had tested positive for Covid-19. Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Kiara Advani, Janhvi Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and other celebrities swarmed the venue to celebrate the Dharma Productions head’s birthday. According to the reports, Karan Johar’s birthday soiree emerged as a super spreader event of the Covid-19 virus.
As per the entertainment portal, some of Karan’s close friends from the Bollywood film industry have been infected with Covid, albeit they have not revealed that they have tested positive. Kartik Aaryan, who was not present at Karan Johar’s party, tested positive for Covid after contracting the virus from one of his heroines, who was present at the party and with whom Kartik was promoting his film.
However, as per India Today’s report, the sources have revealed that Karan Johar is presently shooting for Koffee With Karan and is undergoing the required RTPCR screening on a regular basis. On the sets, all protocols are being followed. The guests are also involved in the process. It’s strange that nearly 50 people who were at the party tested positive. The party was about ten days ago, and Aditya Roy Kapur has just now acknowledged that he tested positive for Covid 19.
The majority of the celebrities and guests who attended the party have already travelled for their own commitments, but every time there is a Covid craze among celebrities, Kjos’s name pops up, the source added.
Meanwhile, Mumbai is the epicenter of Covid-19 cases. Within 4 days the cases in Mumbai have nearly doubled up. The Covid-19 caseload in the first four days of June demonstrates Maharashtra and Mumbai’s fast escalating Covid graph. The city’s total caseload for June is 3,095, which is more than double the total caseload for March (1,519), almost 60% of April cases (1,795), and more than half of May’s burden (5,838).
With 1,357 instances reported on Saturday, the state had its highest number in three months, including 889 in Mumbai. A senior citizen died in Mumbai, bringing the total number of deaths in June to two.
