Khuda Haafiz 2 review by The Hindu

The review by Anuj Kumar says Khuda Haafiz Chapter 2 has a massive improvement on the first chapter of the franchise and the writer-director has delivered a gripping action drama that is not bereft of socio-political realities.

“Unlike the strait-jacketed first part that was hard to invest in, part two is a little more layered and with comments on the criminal-police nexus in Uttar Pradesh, a territory that hasn’t been explored much in popular Hindi cinema,” reviews The Hindu.

Reviewed by Saibal Chatterjee, NDTV gave 2 and a half stars to the film out of 5. The headline read, ‘Vidyut Jammwal isn’t the only reason action film passes muster.’

“Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 – Agni Pariksha is an actioner that delivers a strong first-half build-up that paves the way for an all-out post-interval crusade by the protagonist against the criminals and their accomplices, in uniform or otherwise,” reviews NDTV.

Khuda Haafiz 2 review by The Indian Express

Shubhra Gupta gave 2 stars to the Vidyut Jammwal starrer. The headline read, ‘A full-on Vidyut Jammwal jamboree.’

“No spoilers here, it’s all in part one, which had gone straight to a streamer when it came out in 2020, in the middle of the lockdown. In the sequel too, what passes for a plot is just an excuse to hang a full-on Jammwal jamboree; like the first edition, this one also goes full tilt at the high-octane action, the reason why this film exists,” reviews The Indian Express.

Khuda Haafiz 2 review by Pinkvilla

The review by Avinash Lohana says Vidyut Jammwal, Shivaleeka Oberoi’s film has a purpose but lacks direction.

“While the intention of Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II – Agni Pariksha is noble, what it truly lacks is a direction. The movie constantly treaded on the thin line between the good and the bad, often confused on which path it wanted to march forward eventually,” reviews Pinkvilla.

Khuda Haafiz 2 review by News 18

The review by Zinia Bandyopadhyay said Faruk Kabir, and Vidyut Jammwal take the film quite a few notches higher.

“Khuda Haafiz Chapter II does not hold back on anything. Like Vidyut’s character, the film gets ruthless in its treatment of problems. Gore abounds, and the film portrays things as it is, without any effort to sugarcoat the issues,” reviews News 18.

Pushpa 2 box office collection Day 45: Allu Arjun’s film run ends after 6 weeks

The overseas contribution stands at approximately ₹270.5 crore according to Sacnilk.

Published

on

The extended-cut release of Pushpa: The Rule on January 17th, hoped to reignite fan enthusiasm and boost box office numbers, has ultimately fallen short of expectations. The “reloaded” version failed to provide the significant resurgence needed, leaving the Allu Arjun-starrer struggling in its seventh week of theatrical run. The film’s performance has been significantly underwhelming, marked by a steep 61.58% decline in earnings by the end of its sixth week.

This downturn casts a shadow over the previously reported figures. While the film’s global collection is estimated at ₹1731.65 crore as of January 18th, this is considerably less than the ₹1831 crore announced by the filmmakers on January 6th. This discrepancy raises questions about the accuracy of the previously reported figures and the film’s overall box office success. Independent trackers, like Sacnilk, report a significantly lower number, further highlighting the inconsistency in the reported figures. The overseas contribution stands at approximately ₹270.5 crore according to Sacnilk.

The film’s current trajectory suggests that it’s unlikely to reach even ₹1800 crore in worldwide collections, falling far short of its initial projections. This underperformance significantly impacts its standing amongst the highest-grossing Indian films. While the producers declared Pushpa: The Rule an “industry hit” and the fastest Indian film to cross ₹1831 crore, this claim remains unsubstantiated and disputed by independent box office trackers. The film still trails behind Baahubali 2 (₹1790 crore gross) and Dangal (₹2070 crore gross) in terms of worldwide earnings.

The film’s daily earnings further underscore its declining performance. On its 45th day (January 18th), Pushpa: The Rule managed to garner only an estimated ₹1.1 crore, with a meager ₹0.3 crore from Telugu and ₹0.8 crore from Hindi markets. Its performance in Kannada and Malayalam has practically ceased, while Tamil collections are negligible. The total India net collection stands at ₹1226.75 crore, indicating a significant slowdown in revenue generation. Given these current trends, the prospect of Pushpa: The Rule surpassing Baahubali 2’s record now seems highly improbable. The initial excitement surrounding the film has clearly waned, leaving its ultimate box office success significantly in doubt.
