The case was filed in a metropolitan court in Andheri following which the actor and his bodyguard challenged it in the Bombay High Court.

The Bombay High Court on Thursday dismissed a complaint against Salman Khan and his bodyguard Nawaz Shaikh in connection with the 2019 journalist assault case. The complaint was filed by journalist Ashok Pandey who accused Khan and Shaikh of snatching his phone and indulging in misconduct and assault.
The case was filed in a metropolitan court in Andheri following which the actor and his bodyguard challenged it in the Bombay High Court.

Senior Advocate Aabad Ponda had argued that Khan only asked his bodyguard to stop the journalist from clicking any pictures.
According to the complaint filed by Pandey, the incident took place on April 24. Justice Dangre pointed out the change in Pandey’s statements which had earlier only mentioned his phone being snatched and not being assaulted by Salman Khan and his bodyguard.
The journalist Ashok Pandey had filed a complaint alleging offences under sections 324, 392,426,506(ii) and 34 of the IPC and sought for an FIR to be registered under Section 156(3). The court had quashed his request for an FIR and directed investigation under Section 202 of the CrPc.
Justice Dangre also noted that the Andheri court’s magistrate, while issuing the summons, had not followed due procedure.
