Heavy rain lashes in Delhi and parts of NCR, IMD says weather will remain unchanged for upcoming days

Amid the continuously rising temperature and humidity, Delhi and parts of NCR finally get temporary relief from the scorching heat as the city on Saturday witnessed heavy rainfall.

Amid the continuously rising temperature and humidity, Delhi and parts of NCR finally get temporary relief from the scorching heat as the city on Saturday witnessed heavy rainfall. However, the monsoon shower caused water logging and heavy jams in several parts of the city.

The report said the water has been collected on Delhi’s Tilak Marg road which disturbed the regular traffic, people have to face a lot of difficulties crossing the road. Commuters also witnessed long queues of cars in some in the city during the morning rush hour.

After seeing the sudden change in weather and heavy rainfall, people started sharing visuals of the rain on Twitter. One of the users wrote some beautiful pictures of cumulonimbus clouds moving toward the capital Delhi. While another user criticised the central government and wrote that our top leaders need to invest more money on roads rather than investing in lame advertisements.

The weather department reported that Delhi and NCR are likely to witness a minimum temperature between 26.2 to 28.3 degrees Celsius, which consider a few two notches below average. While the relative humidity in the city will remain at 84 to 85 percent.

As far as the air quality is concerned, the city recorded 110 which comes under the moderate category.

The weather department predicted that the weather remains unchanged in the upcoming few days. The cloudy skies with very light rain are likely to take place at isolated places towards the evening with the maximum temperature around 35 degrees Celsius, the weather department added.

The weather experts also suggested that Delhiites may witness heavy to heavy rain in the next 10 days. Delhi will receive more relief from the scorching heat in the upcoming days, weather experts added.

Lakshadweep MP Mohammed Faizal’s Lok Sabha membership restored ahead of SC hearing

The notification, issued by the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha Utpal Singh, stated that Faizal’s membership has been restored keeping in view the order passed by the Kerala High Court on January 25.

Ahead of the Supreme Court hearing on the matter of Lakshadweep MP Mohammed Faizal’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha, the LS secretariat issued a notification stating that his membership has been restored.

The notification, issued by the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha Utpal Singh, stated that Faizal’s membership has been restored keeping in view the order passed by the Kerala High Court on January 25.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, who was disqualified from the Lok Sabha in an attempt to murder case, appealed to the Supreme Court on March 28 that he has not been reinstated back to the Parliament even though his conviction has been stayed by the Kerala High Court.

The matter was to be heard later today, however, before the hearing Faizal’s membership was restored.

The Kavaratti Session Court convicted the NCP MP and three others to 10 years of imprisonment on January 11, 2023, in an attempt to murder case in connection with the 2009 incident. Following the conviction of a two-time MP from the island, his membership was disqualified and the Election Commission of India announced by-polls.

He was convicted by the Sessions Court under various Sections including 143, 147, 148, 307, 324, 342, 448, 506 and other offenses of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Faizal’s Lok Sabha membership was restored amid Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha in 2019 criminal defamation case. The case will come in handy for Rahul Gandhi to restore his Lok Sabha membership that was struck down by the Lok Sabha Secretary General on March 24.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come to the fore to target the new-found unity of the Opposition parties after Congress leader’s Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from Lok Sabha. PM Modi termed the unit by the Opposition to be a coming together of the corrupt on one stage and further countered the claims made by the Opposition on the central agencies.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while delivering an address at the inauguration of the new party headquarters in Delhi, said that the country has a strong foundation of constitutional institutions and further alleged that in a bid to stop India, constitutional institutions are being attacked.

PM Modi in his scathing attack on the Opposition also countered the claims made by the Opposition and further levelled allegation by saying that agencies are being targeting for taking action. He further said that questions are being raised in courts as well, implying at the petition filled in the Supreme Court about the arbitrary use of central agecies.

PM Modi also attributed the attack by the Opposition to be inspired due to BJP’s alleged crackdown on the corruption. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took a jab at the Opposition and said that the BJP’s crackdown on corruption will upset many, however, won’t be stopped based on Oppositon’s false allegation.

Loktantra Bachao Mashal Shanti March at Red Fort

Delhi Police on Tuesday detained Congress workers and leaders who were reaching to take part in Loktantra Bachao Mashal Shanti March at Red Fort. The video of the detention was shared by the official media platform of Congress.

Reports said several senior leaders including former Chief Minister Harish Rawat were detained by the police. In the visuals, Congress workers and leaders can be seen shouting slogans.

On Monday, Congress leaders wore all black near Parliament and protested against Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from Lok Sabha. The former Congress MP from Wayand’s parliament membership was cancelled after he was convicted in the 2019 defamation case involving the Modi surname remark. The Party is conducting a month-long protest across all states against the disqualification.

Gandhi was sentenced to 2 years in jail in the case by a Surat court and was granted bail on a bail bond of Rs 10,000. His sentence was suspended by the court for 30 days so that Gandhi could appeal to the High Court.

The politician, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2019, attacked the Opposition and apparently asked why all thieves have Modi as their surname during a rally.
