Sonakshi Sinha goes down memory lane, says she couldn’t recognize herself in Lootera

Sonakshi Sinha took some time to believe it was her on screen, when she watched Lootera for the first time. After starring in masala potboilers such as Dabangg and Rowdy Rathore, this one film changed her career trajectory, and the actor still remembers it fondly, 10 years down the line.

Sinha couldn’t recognize herself when she watched Lootera for the first time. She was really proud of her performance in the film .Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, the film’s second half was based on author O. Henry’s 1907 short story The Last Leaf. It saw Sinha playing a sick woman, and how her life changes when a conman, played by Ranveer Singh, enters the scene.

She recollected her experience of working with Motwane during the film. She said both of them came from completely different schools of cinema. Motwane wanted Sonakshi to gel into the character and wanted her to feel the emotion. She could not understand what he expected of her as an actor . Motwane later realized to let her be herself. Motwane told Sonakshi that whatever she was doing was fine with him.

Sonakshi remembers many people had tried to stopped her from doing Lootera. But she said she loved the narration of the film. Many people advised her that she was new and she needed to be seen as an actor doing big budget films. But she took the film as a challenge and did the film.

Sinha shared Ranveer even gave up coffee for his role in the film. Talking about Ranveer Singh she said he is a very hyperactive person. Sinha revealed that she had changed 13 sarees for the song Sawaar Loon. She recollected it was a beautiful and hectic shoot.
