SS Rajamouli to appear in Seth Meyers’s talk show Late Night in the US, everything you need to know

South Indian film director SS Rajamouliis currently is in the United State to promote one of his iconic movies RRR which has been shortlisted for various prestigious awards. To make it more familiar to the audience, the filmmaker will be appearing on a US-based talk show named Late Night with Seth Meyers on January 9. He also will be accompanied by Alison Williams who will be sharing the stage with him.

The news has been confirmed by the Film critic J Hurtado, who helped the director to make a screening of RRR in North America. He tweeted, asking fans that if they did not make to the Chinese theatres screening of RRR Movie on Jannuary 10, then there is no need to worry as the director himself will be guesting on @LateNightSeth so fans can still get their SSR fixed!

Seeing his tweet, many users thanked him for sharing the details about the same. Tweeple also were seen appreciating the film director in the comment section for taking from his busy schedule ahead for making this happen.

Meanwhile, Rajamouli will be making his appearance for a sold-out showing of the movie on Monday at the Chinese Theatres considered one of the largest IMAX theatres in the entire globe, along with Ram Charan and Jr. NTR. The team will then go to the Golden Globes ceremony January 10 on Tuesday at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

Amid this, at the 80th edition of the awards ceremony, the Telugu movie is being nominated in two categories, best foreign film and best original song for the popular song Naatu Naatu.

Taking about the RRR movie, it was released on March 24, last year in India. The movie also featured some of Bollywood actors including Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris. One of the global blockbusters of SS Rajamouli has co-written by his father.

Bhatt addressed the questions he had been receiving from followers on social media and thanked them for their interest. However, he made it clear that he is not part of the upcoming season.

In an Instagram Story, Bhatt said that he does not think he is suited to a show like Bigg Boss. He explained that his personality is more aligned with calm and peaceful surroundings.

The musician said he is not someone who can shout or create unnecessary noise and described himself as a believer in calm music. He added that peaceful music has always been a source of inspiration for him.

His clarification came after his name had been circulating in discussions about possible contestants for Bigg Boss 20.

Batwara 1947 has had a disappointing run at the box office, and actor Shabana Azmi has now shared her thoughts on why the film may not have connected with audiences. According to Azmi, one possible reason could be the difficulty some viewers had in accepting Sunny Deol as a Muslim character.

The film, which also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi, was released on August 14. It has reportedly earned around Rs 53 crore so far, while Awarapan 2, which released on the same day, has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.

Discussing the film’s response, Shabana Azmi questioned whether audiences were able to accept Sunny Deol in a Muslim role.

She compared the situation with Amitabh Bachchan’s earlier performances in which he portrayed Muslim characters. Azmi pointed to Deewaar, where Bachchan’s character is associated with the number 786, and said such portrayals had been accepted by audiences.

Azmi also suggested that there may have been confusion among some viewers about Sunny Deol’s character in Batwara 1947. She said that even some people who had watched the film believed Deol was playing a Pakistani character, whereas, according to her, he plays an Indian Muslim.

He also asked people to remember Aasha Jaiswal Singh by revisiting her work and contributions rather than only mourning her death.

According to the details shared by her son, Aasha Jaiswal Singh died on August 22. Her last rites were held at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle West, Mumbai, on August 23 at 10 am.
