The ageless beauty of Tollywood, Samantha Ruth Prabhu celebrated her 35th birthday last night. The Tamil-Telugu actor is basking in glory with the release her comedy-drama Kaathu Vaakul Rendu Kadhal. Samantha is currently shooting with the national crush of India- Vijay Devarakonda for their next film.

Vijay planned a special surprise for Samantha during the shooting of their upcoming untitled movie. Director Shiva Nirvana wrote a fake romantic scene for Samantha and the actor came on set dolled up for the scene. Prankster Vijay was already present there, ready for the scene.

Samantha delivered the scene teary eyed in one take and exactly at 12 a.m. when the Arjun Reddy fame Vijay Devarakonda had to speak his lines, he said “happy birthday Sam.” That’s when the Family Man 2 actor got hold of the scene and realised that it was a prank and no such scene is included in the film.

Later the huge cake was brought on the set and Vijay gave a party to all the cast and crew members on the occasion of Samantha’s birthday. The female lead was so emotional that she hugged Vijay and her director Shiva for the surprise.

Vijay shared the video on her Twitter and wished Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Later the she also shared the video on her Instagram and captioned it by writing, “The sweetest surprise♥️ It was freezing and we had a lot of work to do. But that didn’t stop these scamsters from pulling off this elaborate surprise. Thankyou”

Samantha Prabhu has worked with director Shiva Nirvana in the film Majili featuring Samantha and her former husband Chaitanya Akkineni. Where as Vijay Devarakonda will be working the director for the first time. However, none of the cast members have made an official announcement of this film.

Reportedly, the film is being shot in the backdrop of Kashmir. Hesham Abdul Wahab will score the tunes for this movie. The makers will give out the details of the other cast and crew very soon.

Bhatt addressed the questions he had been receiving from followers on social media and thanked them for their interest. However, he made it clear that he is not part of the upcoming season.

In an Instagram Story, Bhatt said that he does not think he is suited to a show like Bigg Boss. He explained that his personality is more aligned with calm and peaceful surroundings.

The musician said he is not someone who can shout or create unnecessary noise and described himself as a believer in calm music. He added that peaceful music has always been a source of inspiration for him.

His clarification came after his name had been circulating in discussions about possible contestants for Bigg Boss 20.

Batwara 1947 has had a disappointing run at the box office, and actor Shabana Azmi has now shared her thoughts on why the film may not have connected with audiences. According to Azmi, one possible reason could be the difficulty some viewers had in accepting Sunny Deol as a Muslim character.

The film, which also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi, was released on August 14. It has reportedly earned around Rs 53 crore so far, while Awarapan 2, which released on the same day, has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.

Discussing the film’s response, Shabana Azmi questioned whether audiences were able to accept Sunny Deol in a Muslim role.

She compared the situation with Amitabh Bachchan’s earlier performances in which he portrayed Muslim characters. Azmi pointed to Deewaar, where Bachchan’s character is associated with the number 786, and said such portrayals had been accepted by audiences.

Azmi also suggested that there may have been confusion among some viewers about Sunny Deol’s character in Batwara 1947. She said that even some people who had watched the film believed Deol was playing a Pakistani character, whereas, according to her, he plays an Indian Muslim.
