The untimely demise of the 20-year-old actor Tunisha Sharma sent shockwaves in the TV industry. The actor died by suicide last week and was led to rest on December 27 in Mumbai.

Now, noted TV star Mukesh Khanna has reacted to Tunisha’s death and released a video on her untimely demise.

In a YouTube video on his channel, Khanna slammed media channels for galmourising suicide and urged them not to broadcast the details of the suicide as it is a personal matter and can trigger others with suicidal thoughts.

He further said TV channels need to be regulated and added that media should let police and the family take care of Tunisha’s death and not bombard the family with questions. Speaking on the parents-children relationship, the actor advised parents to support their children and take care of them especially when they are a part of the entertainment industry.

The Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul actor was found hanging in the makeup room of the serial sets. Reports said Tunisha was in a relationship with her co-actor Sheezan Khan and the couple broke up two weeks before the incident occurred.

Following Tunisha’s death, her mother filed an FIR against Khan and accused him of cheating and making false promises to her daughter.

Sheezan Khan was arrested under charges of abetment to suicide and said the Shraddha Walker murder case provoked him to break up with Tunisha as he didn’t want any love jihad claims. However, Tunisha’s mother alleged that Sheezan was cheating on her daughter with multiple women despite promising her marriage.

According to the autopsy report, Tunisha was dead when brought to the hospital and informed that apart from the strangulation mark on her neck, no other mark was found on her dead body.

Bhatt addressed the questions he had been receiving from followers on social media and thanked them for their interest. However, he made it clear that he is not part of the upcoming season.

His clarification came after his name had been circulating in discussions about possible contestants for Bigg Boss 20.

Batwara 1947 has had a disappointing run at the box office, and actor Shabana Azmi has now shared her thoughts on why the film may not have connected with audiences. According to Azmi, one possible reason could be the difficulty some viewers had in accepting Sunny Deol as a Muslim character.

The film, which also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi, was released on August 14. It has reportedly earned around Rs 53 crore so far, while Awarapan 2, which released on the same day, has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.

Azmi also suggested that there may have been confusion among some viewers about Sunny Deol’s character in Batwara 1947. She said that even some people who had watched the film believed Deol was playing a Pakistani character, whereas, according to her, he plays an Indian Muslim.

Azmi said she was surprised by the contrast between the appreciation she had heard from people who watched the film and its weak theatrical performance.

According to her, viewers who discussed the film with her had praised its message of humanity, but that appreciation did not translate into enough people going to theatres.

She also questioned whether audiences were uncomfortable with the film’s India-Pakistan subject. Azmi maintained that the film’s message was not politically incorrect and praised Sunny Deol’s performance.
