Shahi Tukda

Shahi tukda is a rich Mughlai dessert made with homemade ghee-fried bread slices soaked in rose cardamom sugar syrup, topped with fragrant, creamy rabdi and garnished with nuts. This can be one of the most delicious dish to welcome your guest or while hosting a Diwali party.

Jhatpat Chaat

Jhatpat Chaat can be a perfect dish to break the monotony of sweets on the day of Diwali. Potatoes, water chestnuts, lime juice and some spices come together to make this lip-smacking snack, making it a must wanted while Diwali gossips.  

Mathari

Mathari is another appropriate and easy dish to accompany a masaledar chai during Diwali greetings. Mathri also called as mathiya or mathari is a popular North Indian snack of savory, salty, flaky and crispy crackers made with all-purpose flour, spices and seasonings.

Vegetable Pakoda

Diwali is the time to let go of all your inhibitions and indulge guilt-free. What can be better than piping hot pakodas to serve with tea to welcome your guests? And the best part is that it can be made pretty easily. You just need to mix you finely chopped vegetables in the gram four past and deep fry the pakodas. You enjoy it with spicy pudina chutney or even tomato ketchup.

Every Muslim household is decorated beautifully with lanterns, twinkling lights and flowers on this day with people dressing up in their best of clothes to meet relatives and friends and wish them Eid Mubarak! Not to mention the elaborate meal spread consisting of biryani, haleem, kebabs, sheer khurma, meethi sevaiyan that will be enjoyed with family, served to guests and also distributed to poor and needy. Children of the household receive Eidi, a gift or cash from elders in the family.
