[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Former BJP leader, Swami Chinmayanand, accused in the rape case involving a law student, was arrested from his Shahjahanpur residence by the Special Investigation Team on Friday, September 20.  He has been sent to 14 days judicial custody by a local court. It came five days after the victim recorded her statement in court. The exact charges of this arrest are awaited.

According to NDTV, the former BJP leader is not being charged with rape but for “misusing authority for sexual intercourse” or “sexual intercourse not amounting to the offence of rape”, according to his lawyer. The police have not confirmed this charge, which carries a punishment of up to five years in jail and a fine.

The BJP leader was arrested by the special investigation team (SIT) of Uttar Pradesh police from his residence Divya Dham amid heavy security deployment, his lawyer Pooja Singh told PTI.

He was taken for medical examination to a government hospital. He was then taken to the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate where he will be presented. Security has been beefed up in the district hospital. He had been admitted to the Shahjahanpur government hospital after his health deteriorated, the lawyer said.

Singh said the SIT took signatures of Chinmayanand’s relatives on the arrest memo but no arrest-related documents were given to them. As Chinmayanand was taken for a medical check-up, patients at the government hospital had to face a tough time as they were not allowed to enter the premises.

Teams led by senior police officials have been deployed at the court premises and the hospital. A team of police officials is also patrolling the area to ensure there is no disturbance, a senior official said.

It was only yesterday the victim threatened to set herself on fire if Chinmayanand is not arrested immediately. She said that despite recording her testimony under Section 164 and investigation by the agencies for over 15 days Chinmayanand has not been arrested. Last month, the student released a video clip claiming that Swami Chinmayanand harassed her. After the video went viral, the girl went missing and was found in Rajasthan a week later. Later, she appeared before media and alleged that Chinmayanand raped her for a year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Tahawwur Rana demands Quran, pen and paper in NIA custody: Reports

On Sunday, NIA officials confirmed that Rana has been cooperative but reserved, providing limited details so far. “We’re analyzing his responses meticulously,” an officer told reporters, declining to elaborate.

Tahawwur Rana, a key figure in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, was placed under strict suicide watch after his extradition to India and sent to 18-day custody to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) a few days ago. Lodged in a high-security cell at NIA headquarters in Delhi, Rana is monitored round-the-clock by personnel and CCTV to ensure his safety.

Rana has been granted minimal provisions: a soft-tip pen and paper for writing, under strict supervision to prevent self-harm, and a copy of the Quran at his request, Hindustan Times reported.

The Pakistani-Canadian, closely linked to 26/11 mastermind David Coleman Headley, is accused of collaborating with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Harkat-ul-Jihadi Islami (HUJI), and Pakistan-based operatives to orchestrate the three-day assault that killed over 166 people.

He reportedly performs Namaz five times daily in his cell. “He’s made no other demands,” an NIA official told Hindustan Times. Court orders allow him to meet a Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA) lawyer every other day, always in the presence of NIA staff, and mandate medical checkups every 48 hours.

Rana, 64, landed in Delhi on Thursday. The move came after Rana exhausted all legal avenues to block his transfer, including appeals in US courts that argued against his surrender due to prior convictions.

Special NIA Judge Chander Jit Singh granted the custody, with the agency arguing that Rana’s interrogation is crucial to unearth fresh evidence and explore his links to other terrorists, including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Harkat-ul-Jihadi Islami (HUJI) operatives.

“His statements could unlock significant discoveries,” the NIA told the court, emphasizing his role in the November 26-29, 2008, attacks that killed over 166 people and injured hundreds across Mumbai’s landmarks like the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and Nariman House.

Rana’s role in 26/11

A close associate of David Coleman Headley (alias Daood Gilani), the US citizen who conducted reconnaissance for the attacks, Rana is accused of providing logistical and financial support to LeT, the Pakistan-based terror group behind the siege.

Operating through his Chicago-based immigration business, First World Immigration Services, Rana allegedly facilitated Headley’s travels and helped establish a Mumbai office as a cover for surveillance. US prosecutors convicted him in 2011 for supporting terrorism, though he was acquitted of direct involvement in the Mumbai attacks. India, however, pursued his extradition to face charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Indian Penal Code for conspiracy, murder, and terrorism.

Rana’s extradition follows years of diplomatic efforts, with India pressing the US since his 2009 arrest in Chicago alongside Headley. Released on compassionate grounds in 2020 after contracting COVID-19, Rana was re-arrested in 2023 after a US court upheld India’s extradition request, citing sufficient evidence of his complicity. The NIA now aims to confront him with digital records, intercepted communications, and Headley’s testimony, which detailed Rana’s knowledge of LeT’s plans.

Security and investigation updates

According to reports, Rana’s cell is fortified to prevent any escape or external contact, with restricted access even for jail staff. The NIA is cross-referencing his statements with data from Headley’s plea deal and intercepted LeT communications, hoping to trace financial trails and identify Pakistan-based handlers. The agency is also investigating whether Rana had ties to other terror plots, including a foiled attack on a Danish newspaper.

On Sunday, NIA officials confirmed that Rana has been cooperative but reserved, providing limited details so far. “We’re analyzing his responses meticulously,” an officer told reporters, declining to elaborate.

The agency has deployed forensic experts to examine devices linked to Rana’s business, aiming to uncover encrypted communications. Meanwhile, security around Tihar Jail, where Rana may be transferred post-custody, has been heightened, with Delhi Police on alert for potential threats.

Tamilnadu kaise pahunchneka bhai becomes punchline of the week after Prakash Raj’s post with Kunal Kamra goes viral

Prakash Raj’s latest Instagram post with Kunal Kamra subtly references the viral audio threat clip linked to Kamra’s controversial set about Eknath Shinde, drawing online attention.

Prakash Raj on Kunal Kamra controversy

By Mohammad Javed Rasheedi

Just when the political atmosphere couldn’t get any more charged, the National-Award winning actor Prakash Raj and Kunal Kamra strolled in like two unbothered uncles at a chaos-filled family wedding — black T-shirts on, smirks locked, and sarcasm fully loaded.

The veteran actor posted a picture of himself with Kamra, both looking like they were about to drop a joint mixtape with a caption that read: “How to reach Tamil Nadu brother? Simple… in an auto. Just asking.”

Within minutes, the internet knew: this was not just a caption. This was satire served in 4K Ultra HD to the people who have vandalised the Mumbai’s Habitat studio where Kunal Kamra performed in a stand up show.

To truly appreciate this caption masterpiece, you have to rewind to Kamra’s latest stand-up gig. The comedian, known for not tiptoeing around power, had taken jabs at Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Nirmala Sitharaman and many BJP leaders. As expected, not everyone took it well.

In fact, someone — allegedly from a political party’s unofficial bad vibes department — dialed Kamra and threatened him on record. Yes, in an era of smart tech and dumb decisions, the threat was conveniently recorded and leaked faster than your phone’s battery on 4G.

The best part? The caller asked Kamra, “Where are you?”

On this, the comedian replied, “Come to Tamil Nadu, I’ll meet you.”

When the caller asked again, Kamra repeated the same. Then the caller emotionally said “How will you reach Tamil Nadu now, brother?”

Prakash Raj, a National Award-winning actor, is known for using his platform to voice political opinions, often critical of the ruling establishment. Whether in public speeches or social media posts, he consistently positions himself in solidarity with dissenting voices, including journalists, activists, and comedians like Kamra.

However, Prakash Raj has entered in the scene with a caption so perfectly. The veteran actor isn’t new to this. The man has played villains in films, heroes in real life, and now — comedian in politics. His Instagram caption wasn’t just banter; it was a roast with a seatbelt. He didn’t drop names, didn’t shout slogans — just a calm, calculated, perfectly timed jab. And in true Raj style, he used humour not as a distraction, but as a weapon of mass clarification.

Also, the choice of black T-shirts has become considered as the icing on the cake among their fans and Maharashtra govt critics.

Kamra under pressure after stand-up show

The controversy stems from Kamra’s recent performance, where he made pointed remarks about Eknath Shinde. Now the comedian, who is known for his politically charged humour, continues to face backlash but has also received vocal support from figures like Prakash Raj.

While some comedians wait for applause, Kunal Kamra seems to collect court dates. FIRs have become such a regular part of his routine, he might just start including them in his show’s merchandise. But in the face of trolling, threats, and legal landmines, the stand up comedian remains — as ever — unbothered and hilarious.

Thanks to this post, he now has Prakash Raj as his unofficial bodyguard of satire, and frankly, it’s the most cinematic crossover we’ve seen since Avengers: Endgame.

A group of individuals forcibly entered the revered Mata Tekri temple in Dewas city late Friday night, April 11, after it had closed, and allegedly assaulted the priest for denying them entry, police said.

While the opposition Congress alleged that the son of a BJP MLA was among the intruders, authorities have yet to confirm this claim.

According to the priest’s complaint filed at Kotwali police station, Jitu Raghuvanshi, a known figure with a criminal history, arrived at the hilltop temple with a group in eight to ten cars.

When the priest refused to open the gates, the group reportedly hurled abuses and physically attacked him, said City Superintendent of Police Dinesh Agrawal on Saturday. “An FIR has been registered, and we are reviewing footage from around 50 CCTV cameras to identify the culprits,” Agrawal told reporters, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

Social media videos circulating online showed several cars, some with red beacons, parked near the temple’s base, fueling speculation about the group’s composition.
