A fire broke out in the biggest textile market in the capital Patna. After the fire broke out in Hathua market, seven fire tenders have been rushed for extinguishing the fire on the spot.

According to the reports, a massive fire has been caught in the Hathua Market Complex due to a short circuit, as last night it was raining intermittently in Patna, Bihar.

Efforts were being made to control the fire. According to the reports, approximately 12 shops of Hathua Market have suffered heavy damage due to the fire.

According to the reports, more than two hours passed, but the fire could not be controlled completely. After a struggle of about 6 hours, the fire tenders brought the fire under control with the help of the fire brigade.

Moreover, the loss of lakhs is estimated from this incident. As of now, the amount of damage caused by the fire is not known. Many shops in the market have been gutted. There are many local as well as big shops which have suffered a big loss due to the fire. At the same time, it is not clear about the incident as to what caused the fire.

A couple was arrested on Wednesday by the Patna Police for allegedly posing as medical students of Bihar’s Nalanda Medical College (NMC). The couple, who were faking as students of the college, even created a ruckus when they were caught by the security guard.

According to the reports, a couple was sitting inside the campus late at night when the security guard approached them and asked them to leave. However, the couple began fighting with the security guard and refused to leave, claiming that they were medical students at the same college.

Following this incident, the security guard called the senior students to verify their identities. The seniors then claimed that the couple was not enrolled in their college, which led to a massive fight between them.

Prem Shankar Pandey, a security supervisor at the Nalanda Medical College, said when the seniors asked the couple to leave, the girl called some of her friends in their defense. The reports state that the girl’s friends reached the college premises with sharp weapons and pistols.

Soon after, the authorities informed the police about the incident. The police then intervened and stopped the fight. Panday said that on seeing the police, the men, who had arrived with some weapons, fled the spot.

According to the reports, the police have detained the couple and taken them into custody for interrogation. The police said that the girl is constantly changing her statements. Initially, she claimed to be a medical student, but during interrogation, she said she was a counseling student at a medical college.

The police said they are investigating the matter and will take action further.

Fire breaks out in plastic manufacturing factory in Bihar's Patna

A fire broke out in a plastic manufacturing factory in Bihar’s Patna on Monday night. The incident happened at around 8 pm near Nawab Bahadur road in Paschim Darwaza in Sipara.

The locals informed the police about the mishap. Several firefighters and police officials rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the information. According to the reports, the fire was brought under control by 10:30 pm after a couple of hours of firefighting operations.

It was also reported that the State Disaster Response Force and National Disaster Response Force teams had reached the district along with senior police and administrative officials of the district. No casualties have been reported.

Patna City ASP Amit Ranjan said the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but they are currently investigating to find the reason. The plastic manufacturing unit is being running for several years at the house belonging to Motilal.

The factory which caught fire is situated 800 m away from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) Depot. There were reports that the incident took place on the premises of IOC Depot. However, Patna’s Indian oil in charge clarified the news stating that the terminal is absolutely safe.

Indian Oil also tweeted on Tuesday and said, There are news items stating that a fire took place at the Indian Oil Corporation depot in Patna. It is absolutely wrong. Indian Oil terminal is absolutely safe. The Incident took place on premises in the vicinity of the depot and was doused off by fire services personnel. Indian Oil depot is safe.

BJP leader Sanjay Mishra shot dead in Bihar's Katihar district

In a shocking incident, BJP leader Sanjeev Mishra from Bihar’s Patna was shot dead by two bike-borne men in the Katihar district on Monday. The incident took place between 8 am and 9 am near Telta High School More in Balrampur.

According to the reports, the 55-year-old Mishra was standing in front of his house when two men came on a bike and shot at him from close range. The accused fled from the scene immediately. As per the preliminary investigation, the police suspect the incident was a result of political rivalry.

Hearing the sounds of the firing, the family members came out of the house and saw Mishra lying on a road in a pool of blood. Immediately, his family members and locals rushed him to a primary health centre for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead.

A police officer said It was not clear whether two or four assailants came. Some eyewitnesses said that two were bike-borne, while others claimed there were four miscreants on two bikes. The police have been scrutinizing the CCTV footage of the nearby area to identify the miscreants. The criminals fled towards West Bengal, he added.

Soon after the attack, agitated people started protesting and blocking the main road. Not only this, the locals even vandalized the vehicles and the Telta police outpost. The police have been deployed in an area to maintain law and order.

The police said they are currently investigating the matter. A search operation is on to nab the accused. The police have taken his body into their possession and sent it to the Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem.
