A fire broke out in the biggest textile market in the capital Patna. After the fire broke out in Hathua market, seven fire tenders have been rushed for extinguishing the fire on the spot.

Hathua Market Fire

According to the reports, a massive fire has been caught in the Hathua Market Complex due to a short circuit, as last night it was raining intermittently in Patna, Bihar.

Efforts were being made to control the fire. According to the reports, approximately 12 shops of Hathua Market have suffered heavy damage due to the fire.

According to the reports, more than two hours passed, but the fire could not be controlled completely. After a struggle of about 6 hours, the fire tenders brought the fire under control with the help of the fire brigade.

Moreover, the loss of lakhs is estimated from this incident. As of now, the amount of damage caused by the fire is not known. Many shops in the market have been gutted. There are many local as well as big shops which have suffered a big loss due to the fire. At the same time, it is not clear about the incident as to what caused the fire.

At least eight died and several others fell critically ill after allegedly consuming spurious liquor in Bihar. The incident took place on Thursday in Chhapra, Saran district in Bihar.

According to the reports, the victims were all daily wage labourers working in the construction of a building at Jivpur under Panapur police station in the district. The victims had consumed alcohol during Nag Panchami celebrations on Tuesday.

Rajesh Meena, DM Saran, said medical teams have been sent to the area in the village so that checkups can be done at every household. Villagers said most of those who fell ill have lost their eyesight.

The wife of one of the deceased’s labourers said that her husband, along with his five other friends, went to a liquor party after returning home from the construction site. She further said that her husband started vomiting after he returned from the party. He even refused to have dinner and told his wife that he had consumed only two glasses of liquor. But after some time, his health deteriorated and he was rushed to a nearby primary health centre where doctors declared him brought dead.

Mithilesh Mahto, whose father-in-law died on way to the hospital, said the latter had consumed hooch. He said liquor is readily available in the village. Several people died after consuming spurious liquor while others developed health complications later, including vision loss.

Notably, the sale and consumption of liquor is banned in Bihar since April 2016.

Earlier on August 2, two people had died at Ramdaspur village under Bhorha panchayat in the same district after consuming spurious liquor.

Bihar cops suspended after video of two men dragging a corpse goes viral

Locals found a dead body of an unknown person on the roadside near the Nipania cement factory in the Lakho police station area.

Bihar police have come under scrutiny over inhumanity. A video is doing rounds on the internet wherein two men can be seen dragging a dead body with rope in the Begusarai district.

The incident took place on Wednesday and locals found a dead body of an unknown person on the roadside near the Nipania cement factory in the Lakho police station area. Reports said the police reached the spot and asked two men to drag the dead body to the ground with a rope tied to its leg.

The body was then taken to a local hospital in a tractor. During the shifting, the body was pulled out by the rope tied to the leg. APN is not sharing the video due to its sensitivity.

After the video went viral on social media, SP Yogendra Kumar and Sub Inspector Anil Kumar Singh, who were present during the inspection, were immediately suspended. Reports also said a show cause was released to the SHO of the police station.

According to SP Yogendra Kumar, the body was recovered in a decomposed condition. The reports further said that locals are speculating that the body was also scavenged by stray dogs.

A probe has been launched in the case.
