Uttar Pradesh ends night curfew as daily Covid-19 cases decline in the state

With the Covid-19 cases declining in the country, the Centre has asked states and union territories to review, amend or lift restrictions that were earlier implemented in the country to deal with the third Covid-19 pandemic.

Considering the Covid-19 situation in the country, Union Health Minister Rajesh Bhushan said the coronavirus pandemic in India is showing a sustained declining trend since January 21 and the regions can review the additional Covid-19 restrictions. The letter stated that the movement of people and economic activities should not be hampered by the additional Covid-19 restrictions.

However, there are a few different states and union territories where Covid-19 restrictions are still in place. Here’s the full list.

  1. Delhi

Night curfew in the capital continues to be in the place. However, its timings have been relaxed by one hour by the state government. The revised night curfew timings are 11 pm to 5 am.

After seeing a drop in Covid-19 cases in the city, the Delhi government recently ordered schools, colleges, offices, gyms, and other public places to reopen. However,  in certain locations, adherence to Covid regulations is required.

  1. Kerala

The district-level categorization for COVID restrictions continues to remain in place in Kerala. The districts are divided into three groups: A, B, and C by the Disaster Management Authority.

In districts falling under the A category, social, cultural, religious, political, and public events, weddings and funerals can be attended by up to 50 people. No such gatherings will be allowed in the B and C category districts. Religious worship should be conducted solely online in such regions, with marriages and funerals limited to a maximum of 20 persons. Movie theatres, swimming pools, and gyms are not allowed to function in the C category districts.

  1. Uttar Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh, water parks will remain closed, but gyms, swimming pools, restaurants, hotels, and movie theatres will continue to operate as usual. Covid-19 help desks will be deployed across the state to ensure that wearing of masks, social distancing, sanitization, and other protocols are being followed.

  1. Karnataka

Anyone visiting cinemas, gyms, yoga centers, or swimming pools must have a two-dose vaccination certificate. Food items will not be permitted inside the cinema halls, and wearing N-95 masks is mandatory in theatres.

Gang rape Deoghar

In yet another chilling incident, an 11-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by two seniors inside the school washroom. The incident was reported from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan School in Delhi.

According to the reports, the alleged incident took place in July but the matter was highlighted by the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Thursday after the victim approached the police on Tuesday.

The authorities have registered a case against the accused. The school’s regional office has also ordered an inquiry into the incident.

DCW has called the alleged gang rape a serious matter and has issued a notice to Delhi Police and the school principal for not reporting the incident. The commission has demanded to know from the school management the reason behind hiding the incident.

However, according to school officials, neither the victim nor her parents informed the principal about the incident. They claimed the incident came to light only when the victim approached the police.  The regional office of the school has requested an investigation into the situation. The school further said that the issue was also not raised at a parent-teacher meeting that was held after the incident.

DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal said the minor has alleged that she was gang-raped by two students of classes 11 and 12 in the school’s washroom. The incident happened when the victim was on her way to her classroom when she collided with the two boys.

She claimed to have apologized to the boys, but they began to abuse her and pulled her into a toilet. She said that the boys raped her and then locked the toilet door from the inside. She claimed that when she alerted a teacher about the incident, the teacher informed her that the boys had been expelled and that the incident had supposedly been covered up.

Police are currently questioning the faculty and suspected students. Additionally, the DCW has requested an action-taken report from the police.

Viral: Faridabad Metro passengers interpret CISF’s mock drill to be real terror threat, internet in splits | Watch

Another user came forward and remarked on the women’s comments in the video where the user wittily remarked that this is some type of Ekta Kapoor logic, implying that woman added a lot of seasoning into the matter when she spread the fake information about terrorist activities in Faridabad.

Passengers who regularly travel in the metro from and around the Faridabad areas had the chance to witness one of the rarest occasions of CISF soldiers standoff with a terrorist.
The video footage from the NHPC Chowk metro in Faridabad has been making rounds on the internet as the footage shows once-in-a-blue moon incidents between the CISF soldiers and an alleged terrorist. However after the video surfaced, the reports claimed that it was a mock drill and not a stand-off between the CISF soldiers and a terrorist.

In the video, a battalion of soldiers can be seen pointing their weapons at a man, who is on his knees and facing the fall. The woman, who is making the video, can be heard claiming that it was being announced regularly that there were some terrorist activities in the Faridabad area and that’s why the CISF force was being instated in large numbers throughout the districts of Faridabad.

However, there was a fact check done by multiple news sources which relayed that this particular incident was a mock drill that was conducted by CISF on June 24th. Although, it will be fitting to say that the passengers who assumed that it was a real stand-off between the soldiers and a terrorist would have been electrified by the movie-like visuals transpiring in front of them.

Many internet users came forward and added their amusing takes to the video as one user wrote that terrorist activities are temporary but the announcement of please stand away from the doors is permanent, slyly remarking that even in the time of alleged terrorist threat, the Delhi metro announcement is more worried about standing away from the doors.

Another user came forward and remarked on the woman’s comment in the video where the user wittily remarked that this is some type of Ekta Kapoor logic, implying that woman added a lot of seasoning into the matter when she spread the fake information about terrorist activities in Faridabad.

Another video from Delhi metro recently went viral where a girl can be seen making a video as she dances in the Metro as other passengers became spectators of the scene. Many people came forward and applauded the girl for her confidence whereas some thought the new culture of Instagram reels is deteriorating the situations of the Youths nowadays.

Delhi BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri’s video has emerged on the internet where the BJP MP, in response to the problems in a local school, can be seen asking the parents why have they birthed their children. The parents after hearing his remarks can be seen to be infuriated.

In the video, the BJP MP can be heard asking why did the parents birth their kids, the parents while talking to the press were enraged at the uncouth way the BJP leader dealt with the situation. One parent, in the video, stated that the during the time of elections these BJP leaders implore and ask for votes from us, and do not ask such questions because our votes hold value.

Another parent remarked that now we have to ask permission from these leaders before birthing and raising a child, whereas another parent urged and promised the MP to start the school and resolve all the issues in the school, promising, if he can resolve all the issues, the member of the parents association will garland and praise the BJP MP for his task.

Twitter users, while being enraged by the statement made by Bidhuri, trenchantly remarked on the incident as one user came forward and wrote and highlighted the type of people the BJP gives tickets to run in the elections.

Whereas, another Twitter user remarked that this is the representative of the people and instead of finding solutions to the problem, the MP himself has problems with people’s issues. The user further proclaimed that despite this, the people will still vote for him, suggesting the hero-worship culture of voting which is followed by some factions of the country.

Another incident of a similar nature transpired in Bihar where a girl asked IAS Harjyot Kaur, Bihar Women Development Corporation’s Managing Director for the sanitary pads to be made available for free. To this request, IAS Harjyot Kaur, asked if there is an end to the demands made by the public and further asked that right now you are asking for sanitary pads and tomorrow you will ask for condoms.

The statement by the official enraged Twitter as many people came to check the official’s remark and asked if India is a welfare state, then why are people’s demands being dismissed and becoming a taboo topic for her.
