Delhi: Sikkim Police personnel shoots dead three colleagues in Haiderpur, arrested
The accused has been arrested by the Delhi Police.

A Sikkim Police personnel killed his three colleagues today in Delhi’s Haiderpur area. The accused was deployed at the water treatment plant in the area when he started firing on his colleagues.
According to the reports, two of them were killed on the spot and the third one was critically injured. The injured was rushed to Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital. On reaching the hospital, the doctors declared him brought dead, said Pranav Tayal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rohini.

The 32-year-old Rai has surrendered at the Samaypur Badli police station, said Delhi Police.
The accused has been identified as Prabin Rai who was posted at the plant for its security as part of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn). According to the senior police official, the KNK Marg Police Station received a PCR call about the firing at around 3 pm.
The incident occurred two days after an Indo-Tibetan Border Police jawan opened fire on three of his coworkers at a camp in the Udhampur area of Jammu & Kashmir before shooting himself. The incident happened at the district’s Devika Ghat community center.
Today, an army officer and JCO were martyred in an accidental grenade blast that occurred in the Mendhar sector of the Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday night. In the incident, four others also sustained injuries.
According to the officials, the blast occurred when the soldiers were performing their duties along the Line of Control in the Mendhar sector. This resulted in injuries to six army personnel, including Captain Anand and Nb Sub Bhagwan Singh who lost their lives in an accidental grenade blast.

IMD issues orange alert for Delhi-NCR, heavy rainfall predicted

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the national capital and its adjoining areas, including Noida and Gurugram, even as moderate-heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms are predicted in several cities in the country, especially in Northwest and Eastern India.
According to the regional meteorological centre, cloudy skies, thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate showers are predicted in Delhi over the course of next seven days. The national capital city and its adjoining areas will also likely experience gusty winds and hailstorms at some places.
According to the seven-day forecast, maximum temperatures during this spell are likely to remain around a pleasant 26 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperatures can dip as low as 16 degrees during night hours.

The pleasant weather is likely to last for the entire week in Delhi and surrounding areas even as the weatherman has predicted rain along with hailstorms till Monday evening.
On Sunday, rains and hailstorms lashed parts of Delhi-NCR resulting in a drop in the mercury as the maximum temperature dipped three degrees below the season’s average to around 28 degrees Celsius, according to the IMD.
A PTI report quoting IMD regional forecasting centre chief Kuldeep Srivastava said that an active western disturbance over northwest India is causing rain in the region and hailstorms in some areas.
Srivastava said that another western disturbance will start affecting the region (from) Sunday while cloudy skies and on-and-off rain will continue over northwest India till March 21.
He said that precipitation is predicted to peak on March 20 and will result in a drop in mercury, adding that a hailstorm is forecasted in parts of northwest India, including Delhi-NCR, on Monday.

A young man, identified as 23-year-old Rahul, was found hanging from a ceiling inside a hotel room at Devli road, Delhi Police said on Tuesday.

According to an official statement issued by the police, Neb Sarai Police Station received a PCR call from a hotel at Devli Road on the intervening night of March 12 and 13 and a police team was dispatched to the spot who found the victim hanging from the ceiling fan of a room.
The deceased was identified as Rahul, a resident of Dakshinpuri Extension, Pushpa Bahawan, they said, adding that the body of the victim was inspected by the Crime team and later sent to mortuary at AIIMS Delhi for postmortem proceeding under section 174 of the CrPC.
An official said that on March 11, the deceased had stayed at the hotel along with another person, identified as Sourav, and had checked out on the morning of March 12. However, the deceased once again checked into the hotel in the evening at around 5 pm on the same day.

During initial investigation, police while scanning the security camera footage of the hotel, found a man dressed in Delhi Police uniform entering the hotel and it was later revealed that the man had introduced himself as Constable Nabab, posted in Jyoti Nagar police station, the official said, adding that the impersonator had failed to produce an identity card upon being asked to do so.
He said that on being enquired, the OYO hotel staff revealed that a policeman was staying with a woman at the hotel’s room no 206. On checking, the man—identified as Nabab Singh of Ashok Nagar, Mandoli—and a woman were found and questioned.
The official further said that the man who was donning a Delhi Police uniform, introduced himself as Constable Nabab posted in Jyoti Nagar police station. However, the impersonator failed to produce any identity card or any other relevant documents and later was revealed to be impersonating as a constable of Delhi Police but was actually a Civil Defence volunteer of Shahdara District.
A case of impersonation has been registered against him and further investigation is underway.

Delhi boy killed in autorickshaw mishap, friends dump body in underpass; juvenile among 3 held
The body of a boy, who was injured in a road mishap in Delhi Vivek Vihar area, was dumped in an underpass by three of his friends instead of rushing him to a hospital leading to the boy’s death, the Delhi Police said on Tuesday, adding that the trio, one of whom is a juvenile, have been arrested.

Giving details about the incident, an official statement from the city police said that three men dumped the body of their friend body in an underpass in the Vivek Vihar area after an auto-rickshaw they were travelling overturned leading to injuries to the now deceased boy.
According to the statement, a missing report was lodged by the victim, Nitesh’s father Rajendra Gupta at Nand Nagri police station on March 9 and on Saturday, Vivek Vihar police station informed Nand Nagri police station that on Wednesday around 2 am, they recovered a body of an unidentified person from the Kastoorba Nagar underpass.

The body was identified by the victim’s father in the mortuary of GTB hospital.
During the investigation, police checked the CCTV footage and found that Nitesh was sitting with some people inside an auto-rickshaw on the intervening night of March 7 and 8. Later, it was revealed that he was with his friends — Pawan, Brij Mohan and a minor, according to the statement.
Pawan was driving the auto-rickshaw. When police questioned him, it was revealed that they were celebrating the Holika Dahan festival and were going towards Gagan Cinema for dinner, the police statement said, adding that Nitesh was sitting on the right side of Pawan. When the driver took a turn from Sunder Nagri towards Gagan Cinema, he lost control. The vehicle overturned and Nitesh came under the auto-rickshaw.
An official said that instead of taking the injured boy to a hospital, the three friends picked up his wounded body from the same spot where the accident happened in the same autorickshaw and dumped him at an underpass in the Vivek Vihar area of the national capital.
The boy died of his injuries later and might have survived if he had received timely medical attention, the official said.
The senior official said that autorickshaw belonged to one of the three accused who have now been arrested and a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), has been registered against him, adding that further investigation is underway.
