A 14-year-old student goes to school with long hair and faces an archaic form of punishment by the school principal in Kashmir Budgam’s Delhi Public school. A story has come to light on the internet where a student was subjected to an orthodox way of punishment after his unkempt hairstyle bothered the school principal.

The sister of the victim, Sehar Mukhtar, uploaded a Twitter thread about her account of what the principal did to her brother. The sister alleged that the principal grabbed her brother by the neck and hair and also snipped the front part of his hair as the principal was bothered by the length of the haircut.

The sister added that her brother was priorly asked to cut his hair on the 11th but as there was a wedding that was coming up in the family, her brother had asked permission from his teacher, to which she agreed. However, even after getting the approval of the teacher, her brother was subjected to an archaic form of punishment as the school principal, V Muralidharan allegedly grabbed the 14-year-old student by his neck and chopped off his hair without any consent from the parents or guardians.

However, the actions taken by the principal go against the policy of the school as the policy suggests that if a student has a haircut that is not suitable for the school, the school authorities will first give a verbal warning and if the student continued to ignore the warning, the student will be sent home with a note.

The sister got to know about the information after her brother came home weeping and told her about what transpired at his school. The sister alleges that her brother was traumatized and felt helpless as well as humiliated by the principal as the principal stated that bald children can attend weddings.

The family also alleges when they confronted the principal of DPS Budgam, the principal showed no remorse for his actions and even defended their actions on carrying out such actions. The sister also added that 7 other students accompanied by a teacher were sent outside the school premises to a local barber who gave them a haircut without the consent of the family or parents.

The sister also alleges that one of the 7 students was also subjected to physical violence by the school officials as slapped them. The sister and the family are seeking actions against the school authorities for mentally and physically abusing the child as well.

Sehar Mukhtar also added that this trend of disciplining the student was once considered normal, however, it shouldn’t be considered a norm now in 2022. Following the social media post by the sister of the student, many users condemned the actions of the school authorities and sought actions.

Telugu actor Taraka Ratna faints during TDP leader Nara Lokesh's padayatra in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor

Telugu actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna fell unconscious on Friday during the padayatra of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary Nara Lokesh in Kuppam in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital in Kuppam after he fainted during the Padayatra. He was later shifted to the multispeciality hospital in Bengaluru for better treatment.

Reportedly, Taraka Ratna had no pulse, and his body turned blue when he was brought to the hospital. As per the latest reports, his pulse has returned after 45 minutes of treatment. Doctors state that the actor is currently receiving medical treatment.

The incident happened when there was a stampede-like situation outside a mosque that Lokesh visited shortly after launching his 4,000-kilometer padayatra. The actor-turned-politician Ratna was also a part of the padayatra.

According to the reports, ex-CM Nara Chandra Babu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh launched a padayatra in Kuppam on Friday, and he was accompanied by several political leaders. Ratna also accompanied Lokesh in the padayatra.

Lokesh performed a special puja at Lakshmipuram Sri Varadaraja Swamy Temple before launching padayatra and then went to the mosque where he was joined by Ratna after a brief walk. It seems that Taraka Ratna fainted while leaving the mosque, probably from suffocation from overcrowding.

Taraka Ratna is the grandson of TDP founder, legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao. He is the cousin of Junior NTR, Kalyan Ram and Lokesh.

Meanwhile, the padayatra will conclude at Ichapuram in the Srikakulam district after over 400 days. Andhra Pradesh is looking forward to the assembly election in the state which will be held in June 2024.

Taraka Ratna, who made his film debut in 2002 and has acted in about a dozen movies and web series, is reportedly keen to contest next year’s Assembly elections. On the professional front, he was last seen in the S5-No Exit film.
