Delhi LG VK Saxena gives a nod to prosecute JNU student leader Shehla Rashid in 2019 sedition case
Former JNUSU vice president’s Tweets were also slammed by the Indian army as the army had said that the allegations made by Shehla Rashid are baseless.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Tuesday gave a nod to prosecute former vice president of JawaharLal Nehru University’s student union Shehla Rashid in a sedition case which dates back to 2019. Rashid was accused of Tweeting about the Indian army which allegedly aimed to incite enmity between different groups, as well as, indulging in acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony.
According to reports, the case was filed against the JNUSU vice president by the Delhi Police Special cell based on a complaint filed by advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava. The complainant in his allegations thwarted the claims of Rashid’s Tweet and called them untrue. He had also accused the JNUSU vice president of advertently spreading fake news with the intention to incite violence in the country.
The complainant also accused Rashid of defaming the Indian Army’s image in the public eye.
According to reports, the Delhi Police had registered a case under charges of 124A (Sedition) 153A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence) 153 (Wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 505 (Statements conducting to public mischief)
of the Indian Penal Code.

Army’s take on Shehla Rashid’s allegation
Former JNUSU vice president’s Tweets were also slammed by the Indian army as the army had said that the allegations made by Shehla Rashid are baseless. The army had also said that such unverified and fake news are spread by inimical elements and organisations with the intent to incite unsuspecting population.

The former JNUSU vice president, while talking about the situation in Kashmir after the Abrogation of Article 370, had accused the Indian Army of entering the houses of people in Kashmir at night, picking up boys, ransacking residents, as well as deliberately destroying rations of the residents.
Her tweets had also accused the Indian Army of men being called into the Army camps and torturing the people while making the other residents hear them scream in pain.

Amritpal Singh releases first video amid manhunt, mocks Punjab Police | WATCH
Amritpal Singh, who returned from Dubai in 2022 and took over Waris De Chief, is on the run since March 18.

Pro-Khalistani leader and Waris De Chief Amritpal Singh released his first video message amid the high-voltage drama of Punjab Police to nab him.
In the viral video, Singh can be heard mocking the efforts made by the Bhagwant Mann’s police and saying he managed to escape despite their best efforts. He put a full stop to the media reports speculating that he would surrender.
He also said if the Punjab government had the intention to arrest him, the police could have arrested him from his house.
Singh continued that his aides have been arrested in false cases and had been sent to the Assam jail just for preaching the Sikh religion. Further, he urged his supporters to keep fighting for him and support him.

The Punjab government on Wednesday informed the Haryana and Punjab High Court that they failed to arrest the radical preacher despite their best efforts.
The cops also carried out a flag march around the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Multiple media reports stated that Singh will surrender at the Golden Temple in public in the presence of the media.
Amritpal Singh, who returned from Dubai in 2022 and took over Waris De Chief, is on the run since March 18. The Punjab government declared him a fugitive and is in search of the pro-khalistani leader.
On Wednesday, Singh along with his close aide Papalpreet Singh managed to dodge the police and escape. Reports said an Innova vehicle with three people onboard was stopped by the police on Tuesday night at a checkpoint, however, they managed to escape in the dark.
Multiple videos of Singh are being circulated on social media. In one of the videos, Singh was seen walking in a street in Delhi market without a turban and covering his mouth with a mask.

Video of UP policemen trampling, kicking man sleeping on train platform goes viral, users enraged | WATCH
The video also shows the policemen and the man exchanging words, however, one of the policemen can again be seen trampling the man’s feet by stepping on it.

A bizarre video has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura Railway station where 2 policemen can be seen misbehaving with a man sleeping on the railway platform as he waits for the train. After the video went viral, many user came forward to condemn Police’s actions.
In the video, two policemen can be seen harassing a man lying on the railway platform as he waits for his train. In the video, one policeman can be seen blinding the man with torch, whereas another can be seen kicking him.
The video also shows the policemen and the man exchanging words, however, one of the policemen can again be seen trampling the man’s feet by stepping on it. The man can be seen continuing to talk to the policemen despite being harassed.

After the video of the incident went viral on social media, many users came forward to add their take on the incident as one user sarcastically wrote and urged the authorities to award them with bravery award, sarcastically implying at the way they behaved with man in a cowardly manner.
One user wrote and also urged other followers to share the video to make it go viral so the unruly policemen can be held accountable by the authorities.
One user wrote and added a quippy take on the narrative of new india put forth by the BJP as they wrote that they never thought that the new india will function like this, implying that the new India is even a step back from the prevailing situation in the nation.
One user wrote and said that such policemen never treat bigwig mafias or goons in such manner of hostility, implying that the police only use their arbitrary powers against the helpless and never against the people who actually deserve them.

Thieves dig 10-feet tunnel and rob jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh in UP’s Meerut
Meerut Police have started a probe into the matter and action will be taken thereafter.

A bizarre incident is coming to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut where thieves robbed jewellery worth Rs 15 lakhs from a shop by digging a 10 ft foot tunnel through a drain. The incident happened in the jewellery shop located under the Nauchandi Police Station area.
The owner of the jewellery shop found something fishy when he arrived at the shop to open it for business the next morning. The owner noticed a tunnel running through a drain and into the shop. He immediately informed the police about the theft.
The Meerut Police reached the spot and stated that the thieves dismantled bricks and mud from the drain’s weak boundary to enter the shop. The thieves ran away with jewellery worth lakhs of rupees.

Soon after the news of theft spread into the state, the Meerut Bullion Traders Association members reached the showroom to protest the law and order situation in the city.
After the ruckus, two police officers arrived at the showroom. The traders refused to let the police officers inside, saying they needed a senior official’s presence to look into this robbery and several others that have supposedly occurred recently. The thieves are absconding.
Meerut Police have started a probe into the matter and action will be taken thereafter.
Last month too, a similar incident took place where a group of thieves dug a 15-foot-long tunnel from a drain and attempted to rob a jewellery store, but they could not fully open the vault. Later, they scrawled a message of apologies to the store owner before they fled.
