Jacqueline Fernandez withdraws plea to travel abroad after court objects

Jacqueline Fernandez on Thursday withdrew her plea to travel abroad after Delhi’s Patiala House Court objected over the same.

The Court objected to the actor’s plea and said she can withdraw the application and let the question of charge first be decided otherwise the court will pass a judicial order, the judge said.

The counsel for the Enforcement Directorate objected to Fernandez’s plea and argued that the proceedings in the Rs 200 crore extortion case are at a crucial stage and she may not turn up if she is allowed to travel as she is a foreign national.

Jacqueline Fernandez’s Senior Advocate Siddharth Aggarwal promised to not miss his dates on a single day in the court and accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar will argue for his case on January 6 and Jacqueline’s turn will come later.

The actor had filed a plea seeking permission to travel to her birthplace Bahrain to meet her ill mother and also claimed that her mother has some severe medical issues. She requested permission to travel to Bahrain from December 23, 2022, to January 5, 2023.

The Bollywood actor is one of the accused in the Rs 200 crore extortion case also involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. Earlier, Nora Fatehi was also summoned by the ED on the same matter.

A week ago, Fatehi filed a defamation suit against Fernandez in the Patiala House Court and alleged that the statement given by Jacqueline Fernandez. Fatehi, in her suit, also alleged that Fernandez made baseless claims against her which led to media outlets running false reports and slandering her image.

Meanwhile, Sukesh Chandrasekhar recently claimed that he gave Rs 60 crore to the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party during his hearing before Delhi’s Patiala House Court along with Jacqueline Fernandez.

Reports said the conman wrote multiple letters to the Lieutenant General (LG) of Delhi ahead of the MCD polls and made serious allegations against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain and Kailash Gehlot.

Indian 2 social media reviews: Fans criticise Kamal Haasan’s film

After a long wait of four years, Indian 2 finally hit the big screen on Friday. A continuous cult classic drama released in 1996, Indian, the film was directed by S Shankar featuring Kamal Haasan in the lead role.  

The film features casts including S J Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth Bobby Simha, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaraman, Nedumudi Venu, Gulshan Grover and Delhi Ganesh among others. The music is composed by  Anirudh Ravichander.

Indian 2 film is one of the biggest projects by Shankar, with a budget of Rs 150 crore. Social media users have expressed their views on the film and are disappointed as the film missed the mark with Indians.

Netizens have pointed out that a film is highly outdated with grand visuals, no creativity and poor makeup with the worst dialogues. Haasan scores in very few scenes. Sid is okay, and BGM is okay, but SJ Surya has no scope but cringe scenes throughout the climax fight. Shankar disappointed fans and wasted opportunity in dull, a user wrote on X.

It’s just an average to below-average movie. There is no story it is just like a set-up for Indian 3. Yes Indian 3 trailer was played after the rolling titles and Indian 3 seems pretty interesting and I think Indian 3 would be worth waiting, another user wrote.

He was awarded the Kalaimamani Award, the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, in 2016. Haasan films are the most-awaited finally the Indian 2 movie is now in cinemas and the fans are not disappointed. The film has been released in the US and India.
