US President Joe Biden has arrived in Delhi today to participate in the G20 Summit from September 9 to 10. President Biden was received by Union Minister V K Singh at Delhi Airport.

President Biden on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter’s residence in Delhi where Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting on the sideline of the G20 Summit.

The Prime Minister’s Office informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden held bilateral talks at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi. Their discussions included a wide range of issues and will further deepen the bond between India and the USA.

Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), has called the global family dysfunctional.

Speaking in New Delhi on Friday ahead of the two-day G20 Leaders’ Summit that begins on September 9, Guterres welcomed India’s focus on One Earth, One Family, One Future but said the phrase is an indictment of our times. Because if we are indeed one global family, we today resemble a rather dysfunctional one, he added.

Two things are crucial at the present moment. First, we need to look into an unequal world. Secondly, we have to look into climate and reduce emissions as things are getting out of control, he said.

Terrorism should be a high priority of discussion. It is the worst violation of human rights and is absolutely unjustifiable. Terrorism can never be the answer, it only amplifies problems, the Secretary-General of the United Nations said.

India is strongly committed to being the voice of the developing world and making sure that development isn’t forgotten in the international agenda. India has managed to put a development agenda in the G20 Summit, he further said.

Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau has also arrived in Delhi today for the G20 Summit. He was received by Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar at Delhi Airport.
