Prime Minister Narendra Modi has paid homage to the martyrs of 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks on its 9th anniversary. Ten heavily armed Pakistani terrorist killed 166 people in the country’s financial capital in 2008.
Addressing the nation through the monthly radio program– Mann Ki Baat –Prime Minister said on Sunday that terrorism has become a threat to humanity and a global burden. He urged the citizens to be more vigilant against the deadly intentions of terror outfits.
“We salute all those brave women and men who lost their lives in the gruesome 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. Terrorism has become a global burden,” said PM Modi.
“This country can never forget their sacrifice. Terrorism has threatened and challenged humanity across the globe. It is bent upon destroying the humanitarian forces. All humanitarian forces will have to keep fighting united to defeat the menace of terrorism,” he added.
With the day also marking as the 66th anniversary of the adaptation of the Constitution of India, PM Modi hailed the efforts of those who came together in framing the Constitution.
Terming the Constitution as the soul of the nation, he said, “The makers of our constitution worked hard to give us a constitution we would be proud of. Our constitution safeguards the rights of the poor and weaker sections of society. Baba Saheb had an important role in making our country a prosperous and a powerful nation.”
On the upcoming Navy Day on December 4, the Prime Minister applauded the Indian Navy for its international efforts to restore normalcy.
Sharing a brief history of the Indian Navy, Modi said, “India’s glorious naval tradition dates back to times of the Chola Empire and the empire of Shivaji Maharaj. Indian Navy has always rendered glorious service and has come forward in humanitarian ventures. This June, INS Sumitra saved a number of Bangladeshi fishermen during Cyclone Mora. In the same month, Indian Navy’s fishing boats responded to SOS call from Papua New Guinea to rescue their fishing boat.”
Modi further urged armed force personnel to share stories of their courage through videos and posts on social networking platforms and suggested people of the country to make donations for the Indian Army welfare on ksb.gov.in.
“This money is given to the family members of martyred soldiers and injured soldiers through Kendriya Sainik Board,” he added.
Further urging the farmers to reduce the urea usage by half by the 75th anniversary of Indian independence in 2022, PM Modi said, “More than 10 crore Soil Health Cards have been made by the farmers for a better understanding of their soil and accordingly sow the crops. I am very glad to see that my farmer brothers have come forward to implement suggestions made in soil health card. Farmers realized that proper soil care is needed to increase production & that if we take care of our soil, it will also care for us.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
