On Sunday, Two bike-borne robbers had concocted to rob a petrol pump station located in Amritsar. The robbers tried to rob the pump but the plan didn’t go according to plan as the security guard swung into action and shot one of the robbers as the other one fled the scene. According to reports, the incident took place at a petrol pump which is located in Malian Village which is near Jandiala Guru.

In the video, two bike-borne robbers can be seen speeding into the petrol station as one of the robbers pulls out, what looks to be a gun and charges at the employees. However, to the robber’s surprise, he didn’t realize that a guard bearing arms was also present to stop it from happening. Upon witnessing the robber with the gun charging at the petrol pump worker, the guard can be seen shooting rounds at the robber.

The robber after being shot can be seen trying to flee the petrol pump, however, his accomplice can be seen living up to the phrase of no honour among thieves as he flees the scene and leaves his shot man dead and lying on the floor.

According to reports, the Petrol pump where the incident transpired provides a 24-hour long service faced another such incident a month ago where 90,000 rupees were robbed from the Petrol pump. After the incident, the police reached the spot and filled out a report. The police are also looking for the deceased robber’s accomplice who is still at large.

Another viral video came to light from Amritsar where an E Rikshaw driver can be seen in a state of unconsciousness after allegedly ingesting drugs. In the video, an E rickshaw driver can be seen in an unconscious state as he rests his head on the handle of the E rickshaw. The incident is reported to be from the Mohkampura Police station area.

348 mobile phones seized in raids across Delhi jails during 2.5 months: Authorities

Jail authorities have recovered more than 340 mobile phones in jails across the national capital during the last two-and-a-half months, a senior official said on Thursday.

In a statement issued to the media, Director General (Prisons) (DG) Sanjay Baniwal revealed that the jail authorities found 348 mobile phones in two-and-a-half months. Baniwal said that the jail authorities conducted a raid in jail number 3 and seized 18 mobile phones and chargers, adding that 348 mobile phones have been seized over the last two months.

The officer said that jail superintendents have developed strong intelligence in the prisons and started conducting raids to send the criminal world a strong message.

The DG said that the authorities have set 23 targets for 2023, among them is making jails completely phone free and setting up problem redressal system for the inmates. He added that jammers will be inside the premises so that using a phone inside prisons would become impossible.

On the alleged involvement of insiders who help procure mobile phones for inmates and smuggle them inside the jail premises, Baniwal admitted the involvement of the prison staff in the act, promising that stringent action will be taken against those found guilty.

He said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is also being singed with the Art of Living Foundation to strengthen the mental well-being of the inmates.

The senior officer said that the President and the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi instructed that arrangements should be made inside the jails to impart skill development training to the inmates so that they may get gainful employment when released.

He informed that under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM), a total of 1,020 jail inmates are getting trained in tourism and hospitality which will end in three months.

The DG said that skill development training in stitching high-end clothes under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, will be imparted to around 1,000 inmates in order to help them gain employment or becomes entrepreneurs by opening their own businesses under the Micro Units Development & Refinance Agency (Mudra) loan, once they complete their prison terms.

Kozhikode-bound Air India Express flight returns to Abu Dhabi after mid-air fire

An Air India Express flight from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode, Friday, was directed to head back to the airport after fire was detected in one of the engines shortly after take-off.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in statement said that a Kozhikode-bound Air India Express flight from Abu Dhabi with 184 passengers onboard, landed back at the airport after the pilot detected flames coming out of one of the engines.

The DGCA said that the incident happened soon after the aircraft- an Air India Express B737-800- had taken off and climbed to 1,000 feet, adding that the pilot decided to go back to the Abu Dhabi airport due to the mid-air flameout.

The regulatory body said in its statement that an “Air India Express B737-800 aircraft VT-AYC operating flight IX 348 (Abu Dhabi-Calicut) was involved in Airturnback due to the No. 1 engine flameout at 1,000 ft during the climb.”

The DGCA said a probe has been ordered into the incident.

In a similar incident, a Muscat-bound Air India Express flight from Trivandrum, landed back 45 minutes after taking off due to a technical glitch. The flight, according to officials, took off from Trivandrum at 8.30 am and landed back at 9.17 am.

In December 2022, a snake was found aboard a Dubai-bound Air India Express flight.

Air India Express Boeing B-737 flight from Calicut to Dubai took off as scheduled and after landing at Dubai airport, the staff reported a snake on board the aircraft.

The DGCA had ordered a detailed probe into the incident.

Facebook prevents man from attempting suicide in Uttar Pradesh, know how

The rescue of the man was made possible due to the agreement between Meta and Uttar Pradesh which was part of an initiative started in March last year.

A story has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, where a man tried to end his life while he was living from his Facebook account. However, his plans to take his own life were foiled as Meta alerted the police about what was happening.

The police, after learning about the what was happening, rushed to the man’s residence in order to stop him from turning to suicide. As per reports, the man has been identified as Abhay Shukla who is a resident of Kannauj.

The Ghaziabad police were informed and alerted about the suicidal ideation of the man through mail. It was reported that the police received the email late at night on their social media centre of police headquarters. The Police headquarters’ social media team passed the information down to Ghaziabad police.

After learning about what was happening, the local SHO took prompt actions and rushed to find the location of the Shukla who was live streaming his suicide. The police, after many difficulties, were able to trace the residence of the man and reached him before he could take a drastic action.

According to reports, Abhay Shukla had intended to end his life after recently facing a huge financial loss where he lost 90,000 Rs. He originally hails from Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh, suggest reports.

Reports also suggest that the police, after preventing Shukla’s suicide, also provided counselling in presence of his family members.

The rescue of the man was made possible due to the agreement between Meta and Uttar Pradesh which was part of an initiative started in March last year.

Another incident

Most recently, another case of suicide came to light from Rajasthan Kota where a 22-year-old, who was preparing for the NEET entrance exam, turned to suicide. The reason behind the student’s attempt hasn’t been given out, however, the police suspect that man had been under a lot of pressure and stress from a long time, owing to which he took such a drastic step.
