Telangana BJP Leader’s son goes missing in United Kingdom

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The 23-year-old son of Uday Pratap, the president of BJP’s Khammam district unit, Telangana has gone missing in the United Kingdom, according to Media reports.

Ujwal Sriharsha, who had gone to London last year to pursue MS on machine learning and artificial intelligence, last spoke to his mother on August 21, his father Uday Pratap, president of BJP’s Khammam district unit, told media personnel on Monday (August 26).

There was no response when the family members called him the next day. “He used to call every day,” he said.

“On August 21, a backpack was found at the top of cliffs called Beachy Head, Eastbourne, East Sussex. Property within the bag was identified as belonging to your son. Unfortunately, the circumstances in how the backpack was found are leading police to believe that your son may have taken his own life. He has not been seen at his home in London since the early hours of August 21. At present, we have not been able to locate your son, but our enquiries into his disappearance are continuing,” the Times of India quoted a letter from police constable Darren Stevens as saying.

However, the parents expressed doubt at the police version and said that their son may have been abducted.

“He never ever exhibited any negative thoughts during his entire school and college days. The reported recovery of Sriharsha’s laptop bag and his mobile phone at a beach near London points needle of suspicion to some foreign students who stayed along with him at Beaumont House,” Uday Pratap was quoted as saying.

He was a meritorious student who pursued engineering in Hyderabad, did his schooling from the Rishi Valley School at Madanapalle in Andhra Pradesh, he added.

Ujwal Sriharsha aspired to become a scientist and recently went to Japan for a project work, Pratap said.
