RRC Group D exam: Modification link now open for rejected applicant, know how to correct invalid photograph/signature

In a one-time opportunity for those candidates whose application has been rejected on the ground of invalid photographs or signatures, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has provided a modification link to modify the application forms and upload correct documents.

In its notification, the RRBs have informed that It will be a one-time opportunity for candidates whose application forms were rejected on the ground of invalid photographs or signatures.

Thereafter, the decision of RRBs regarding the validity of photograph/signature shall be final and binding on candidates. No further representations on this account shall be entertained, the RRB said.

As per the RRB’s recent notice posted on its official websites, the candidates are advised to keep ready with their scanned photograph and signature as per the specification mentioned.

In 2019, RRB on behalf of RRC invited the applications for the various posts in Group D-Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix in various units of Indian Railways for total of 103769 Vacancies.

The RRC Group D exam was announced in February 2019. More than 1 lakh vacancies in Group D posts will be filled through this recruitment drive.

10 schools in Kanpur get bomb blast threat through emails

At least 10 schools in Kanpur received threatening emails on Wednesday which triggered panic in the city. This comes after a number of such emails threatening schools and hospitals with bomb blasts in many cities across India, including Delhi were received. The emails have come through servers which are based in Russia.

According to reports, the emails threatened to blow up the schools. The district administration has rushed the bomb disposal squad to the schools in order to sanitise the premises. Joint Commissioner of Police Law and Order, Harish Chander said the police’s cyber cell is investigating the matter.

Speaking to the media, Chander said the Kanpur Police received information about a bomb threat to various schools. The cyber cell is investigating the matter. All officials have been instructed to monitor CCTV footage thoroughly to establish a link between this threat and previous bomb threats which were received by multiple schools, airports and hospitals.

He also urged parents not to a panic. On Tuesday, 8 schools in Bengaluru received emails threatening bomb blasts. Last week, the city’s popular hospital chain, St Philomena, received a bomb threat email. All these bomb threat emails later turned out to be hoaxes.

 Bhavan Bangalore School, Bengaluru Scottish School, Deeksha High School, Jain Heritage School, Chitrakoota School, Edify Schools, Giridhanva School and Gangothri International Public School were among those that received the threat email from the same domain, Beeble.com.

Delhi’s GTB Hospital, Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, Hedgewar Hospital and Dada Dev Hospital also received bomb threats via email. The city’s administration scrambled bomb detection team, the bomb disposal squad, fire department and the local police to conduct searches. Over the last one month, Indira Gandhi International Airport, over 20 hospitals and more than 100 schools across Delhi-NCR region have received such threats, but all of them turned out to be hoaxes. On Monday, over 50 schools in Jaipur received similar bomb threat emails.

The National Testing Agency on Tuesday said the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG 2024 scheduled for May 15 stands postponed for centres across Delhi due to unavoidable reasons. The exam in Delhi is going to be held on May 29.

Professor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar spoke about the examination and said, due to unavoidable reasons, the 4 papers scheduled on 15 May in the Centres of Delhi have been rescheduled to 29 May 2024. He further added that the National Testing Agency has taken this decision in the best interest of the students. The revised admit cards will be issued. Exams have been cancelled in 258 centres in Delhi.

The announcement was made a few hours before the examination was scheduled to begin in 380 exam centers across India, including 26 outside India. The students and parents were disappointed as the cancellation of the examination was made at the last minute.

According to a public notice issued by the National Testing Agency, it is being informed to all the concerned candidates and stakeholders that due to unavoidable reasons, the test papers (Biology – 304, Chemistry -306, General Test – 501, English – 101) which had been scheduled on 15 May 2024 stand postponed for the candidates appearing in centres across Delhi only.

The notice further said that the examination scheduled for May 15 will be held in all other cities across the country, including in Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad and abroad. The National Testing Agency claimed that the reason behind this postponement is manpower issues caused due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. CUET UG is held at a large scale and NTA had selected many exam centres and invigilators are deployed for this process. However, they were facing issues in getting appropriate amount of invigilators in Delhi exam centres for the May 15 exam due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Agra school principal beats up teacher for coming late to school, video goes viral

A video of a school principal beating up a teacher that led to a fight between them is circulating on social media platforms across the internet. The incident took place at a primary school in Agra , when a video of the incident went viral. The incident has reportedly taken place at a primary school in Seegana village of Agra.

In the beginning of the video the principal can be seen reprimanding the teacher, Gunja Chaudhary, for arriving late to school, which led to a heated argument between them. Reacting to the incident, the primary school teacher claimed that the principal, too, had been arriving late for the past 4 days. This led to a verbal exchange between the two of them.

As tensions increased, the confrontation turned to physical which can be clearly seen in the video. Both the principal and the teacher were engaged in a heated argument and even resorted to the use of derogatory language and physical violence. Other staff members who were present at the scene tried to separate the two and stop the brawl but it seemed all efforts were in vain.

The physical fight ended with the primary school teacher tearing the principal’s clothes and she retaliated by pulling hair of the school teacher. This incident has resulted in injuries to the school teacher’s eye as well. The incident has led to widespread discussion and concern within different members of the education department. Many X users expressed shock and dismay at the behaviour exhibited both by the school teacher and the principal. According to reports a complaint has been lodged at the Sikandra police station regarding the incident.

The video of the incident has gone viral with 211400 views, 649 retweets and 1600 likes which are only increasing. Large number of X users commented on the viral video where one X user Arkabrata Das said he was glad that the teacher who got beaten was not male, otherwise the reason for beating would have changed.
