Foods that will keep your tummy cool and body healthy in summer

The wind, the weather and our mood, everything changes with the change in temperature. This is the time when our tummy asks for a change in our food habits too.

It is very important for us to welcome this season with precaution and safety because the chances of dehydration, constipation, viral fever, digestion issues etc. are high throughout the summer days.

To avoid these health issues it is necessary to keep our body fit and cool. During summer we should avoid fatty and fried foods, as they tend to heat up our body. And we should consume foods that are rich in water and nutrients.

This season brings ample of fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables with lots of health benefits.

Here are foods that we should add in our diet list during summer.

Watermelon

Red, juicy, sweet and watery watermelon is best among all the other summer fruits, because it contains 92 per cent water that helps to fulfil the maximum amount of body’s water requirement. It is also infused with vitamin A and anti-oxidants that keeps our skin and body healthy.

Curd

Curd contains probiotics which are essential to keep good bacteria in your stomach healthy. It also helps to cure digestion issues and cools the stomach.

Curd can be eaten in different ways, we can consume it by adding sugar or salt in it or we can make chaach, lassi, raita etc. it can be added in curries as well.

Cucumber

Cucumber helps in keeping constipation at bay. The water content in this vegetable is high which keep our body cool. In Indian houses, it can be seen on almost every dining table during summer.

Remember the saying ‘as cool as cucumber’ in summer days and say cool during the hot weather.

Coconut water

During hot summer days, coconut water is very beneficial for everyone. It contains potassium, electrolytes and plenty of nutrients that keep our body hydrated and healthy.

Mint

Mint is also known as pudina in India. It helps to reduce gastric acids and heat in the stomach.

Saudi Arabia is gearing up for its historic debut in the Miss Universe pageant, with Rumi Alqahtani set to represent the country in the prestigious competition. Rumi Alqahtani is a prominent runaway model and influencer from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, who has made history by becoming the first-ever Miss Universe participant to represent Saudi Arabia.

Rumi Alqahtani has garnered recognition in the beauty pageant industry through her participation in numerous global competitions, including the Miss and Mrs Global Asian competition in Malaysia. According to reports the 27 year-old model has already won the titles Miss Saudi Arabia, Miss Middle East, Miss Arab World Peace, and Miss Woman (Saudi Arabia).

Rumi Alqahtani announced Saudi Arabia’s participation in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant on her Instagram, sharing a photo of herself in a silver sequin gown, wearing a Miss Universe Saudi Arabia sash, standing next to the Saudi Arabian flag. She captioned her Instagram post that she was honoured to participate in Miss Universe competition. This is the first participation of Saudi Arabia in the Miss Universe competition.

Alqahtani’s participation follows in the footsteps of Bahrain’s Lujane Yacoub, who represented her country in the Miss Universe pageant last year. She became the first woman from the Gulf region to do so. Alqahtani’s involvement is hailed as milestone in empowering women of Saudi Arabia. She has previously represented the Kingdom in numerous international competitions, including Miss Asia in Malaysia, Miss Arab Peace, and Miss Europe.

Google Doodle on Tuesday took centre stage to honour Nowruz, the Iranian New Year. It is a vibrant festival which is steeped in over 3000 years of history. Google Doodle today features the artistic vision of Iranian guest artist Pendar Yousefi. Yousefi’s creation takes inspiration from childhood memories of Nowruz which evokes joy, togetherness and hope.

These are captured through the animal friends who have gathered together in a flower filled courtyard to ring in the coming in of spring under the blossoming tree. It captures the spirit of Nowruz through vibrant colours and intricate details, an art form which is a rich history in the region that celebrates the festival.

Nowruz literally means new day in Persian. It finds its roots in ancient Iran, then known as Persia. It is aligned with the spring equinox and marks the beginning of the New Year and the blossoming season. As trade flourished along the Silk Route, this festival spread its wings captivating countries and ethnicities across the vast network.

At the heart of Nowruz lies the cherished tradition of haft-sin. Families come together to arrange 7 symbolic items each representing a vital aspect of life and nature’s renewal.
