Hair care tips for winter

Summers are gone and winter bells are ringing all around. It’s time to take care of your hair from the harsh winter weather. Winter winds make your hair weak and scalp dry, but what many people do not realize is that there are some easy winter hair care tips that will help to protect and replenish your hair during this season. You can prevent your hair from getting dry, dull and damaged by changing your hair care routine.

Try these simple hair care tips to keep your hair look shiny, clean and full of volume.

Remove the flakes
Due to the lack of moisture in the air, your scalp gets drier and itchier than ever during winter months. This leads to problems like dandruff and scalp irritation which can cause hair fall. This problem can be solved with a simple home remedy. All you need is just two most common ingredients – Coconut oil or Olive oil and Lemon Juice. Now, what you need to do is heat two tablespoons of olive oil or coconut oil for few seconds and put one teaspoon lemon juice in it. Massage it on your head and leave for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse it with shampoo and conditioner.

Control Frizz
Winter makes your hair frizzy and static. The hoodies, sweater, scarves, gloves, and beanies all seem to mess up your hair, making it a static and frizzy. To get rid of it while combing your hair use a vented hair brush that has plastic and boar bristles. Do not wash your hair with hot water, use lukewarm water as hot water will remove the natural oils that protect and nourish your hair.

Apply Oil
For keeping your hair healthy and shiny and for protecting it from the harmful effects of winter it is very important to apply oil on your scalp regularly. Oil provides essential nutrients to your hair and protects your scalp and hair from getting too dry.

Bounce and Shine
Lack of moisture during winter leaves your hair look dull and lifeless. Comb out your hair with a wide-toothed comb and remove all the tangles, apply raw honey to the length of your hair from the roots to the tips. Cover up your hair with a shower cap and leave it on for about 30 minutes. Wash it with lukewarm water. Honey is a humectant that seals in the moisture and helps restore shine and bounce to dull and damaged hair.
