This day is celebrated to mark the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Dr RadhaKrishnan was the first vice President of India. He was born on September 5, 1888. He was well known for his teaching skills as he was a Philosopher and scholar. Dr Radhakrishnan always encouraged the youth to grow and step forward in shaping the world with the power of education. In 1962, September 5 was dedicated as the day for Teachers and since then it is celebrated as Teachers Day to honour Dr Radhakrishnan’s remarkable approach towards education and students.
