Take steam

An easy home remedy to get rid of a running nose is steaming. Inhaling steam is the best way to relieve cold, all you have to do is place a towel over your head and lean over a pot of hot water and breathe in the steam, making sure to stay away from the hot water.

You can prepare the steam at home by simply boiling the water and adding herbs like eucalyptus leaves, rosemary sprigs, thyme, lavender buds, mint leaf, and rose petals, to it. In case you don’t have herbs at home just add a pinch of menthol to your steam.

Sip on ginger tea

If you’re searching for something potent to fight a cold, ginger tea is the perfect solution. Ginger has been used for ages to treat everything from inflammation to upset stomachs.

Scientists are now beginning to concur that ginger has outstanding anti-cold properties. The ginger plant’s twisty root contains substances called gingerols that fight bacteria, viruses, and discomfort. Squeeze lemon juice for vitamin C and a tablespoon of honey and add ginger to it, your ginger tea is ready to kick out the cold.

Soothing salt water for sore throat

One effective treatment for sore throats is warm water and saltwater gargling. ⅓ rd teaspoon of salt should be dissolved in eight ounces of water. Spend as much time gargling as you can, then spit it into your sink.

If gargling is not your choice then try ice chips, hard candy, or lozenges to relieve a sore throat. A sore throat spray is advised for kids. Brew your own tea with tulsi leaves and clove. Some essential oils, such as peppermint, and eucalyptus can be beneficial.

Relax in a hot bathtub

Taking a hot, steamy bath can help kill germs. A hot bath not only eases aches and pains but also helps one get off the tiredness that is because of cold.

For a speedy recovery, add some Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) to the water. These are some of the kid-friendly immune-boosting baths that you can try on your kids if they are sick.
