The Swachh Bharat Mission is a country-wide campaign initiated by the central government on October 2, 2014, to eliminate open defecation and improve solid waste management.
The list of candidates includes eight women, 13 leaders from the Scheduled Castes, and nine from other backward communities (OBCs).
Prime Minister Modi and PM Wong also visited the semiconductor facility of AEM Holdings Ltd in Singapore, where they explored synergies in semiconductor manufacturing.
“We have also approved a package of Rs 250 crore for the development of tribal areas in particular," said the Union Home Minister.

PM Modi will also meet with Singaporean business leaders and interact with those in the country's semiconductor ecosystem.
Speaking to reporters, senior Congress leader Venugopal said, "This meeting was not regarding contesting any election."
