IND vs IRE: Former cricketer Mohammed Kaif not impressed with India’s performance, says credit should be given to the chasing team

IND vs IRE

Deepak Hooda’s 104 and 77 from Sanju Samson helped India put up a giant total of 221 on the score board for Ireland to chase. But in a last over suspense match Ireland lost the match by just 4 runs, but they definitely made men in blue bend their knee.

And seems like the former cricketer like Mohammed Kaif and Ajit Agarkar also feel the same. After the match, both cricketers discussed about the form of Indian batters and also about how this match would give a lot of confidence to Ireland cricket team even though they lost the match.

After that brilliant partnership between Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson, opposition picked 6 wickets in the last four overs. This did not only help them in pulling back the momentum with the ball but they also kept their best foot forward while batting. “Playing on a good pitch with not that big stadium and a good Indian team, such performance would give Ireland a lot of confidence. Brilliant show,” Agarkar said on the Extra Innings show after the match.

Agreeing on the same, Mohammad Kaif said that even after making a huge total of 225, team India won the match by just 4 runs. Which simply means that the credit should be given to the chasing team. “Ireland may not be among ICC’s top teams, but they stretched it till the last game. The hosts batted really well in the first game too. However, it was their bowling that made them lose the match. But the team is good no doubt,” Kaif added.

Even former Indian all-rounder Ajay Jadeja felt that India was lucky to get away with the second win as Ireland dished out a memorably hitting exhibition with the bat. He further added that it was closer than Indian fans would have liked. I also think India got away today. Men in blue are really lucky to have got away with a win.”
