Recently, the South Africa captain Temba Bavuma broke his silence on the upcoming T20 series against India. The SA skipper had the perfect reply when asked about ‘No Virat-Rohit Show’ during the T20 series.
Talking about the fighting spirit of the Indian team without the senior players like skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jaspreet Bumrah, Bavuma said that he expects the competition to be high as the players had an amazing run during the IPL 2022.
Temba Bavuma said that the Indian side may be looking new but the young Indian players play competitive cricket. “Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not there but the Indian fighting spirit will still be there,” the SA skipper said.
The South Indian captain also believes that in recent times, the Indian team loves playing aggressive cricket. “The attitude, the mindset of the Indian team, in the last couple of years, has changed. It’s guys who play cricket hard,” Temba said.
Temba Bavuma, the SA captain who led his team against the IND vs SA Test, where India lost terribly says the SA team shouldn’t cling on to that win and should keep moving forward and working hard. The former Indian captain Virat Kohli had stepped down from the test captaincy after that series.
However, now Kohli, Rohit and Bumrah have been rested and young IPL talents, like Umran Malik and Harshdeep Singh have been given chance maiden call-up for the IND vs SA T20I. The Lucknow Super Giants captain, KL Rahul will lead the team in Rohit’s absence and Rishabh Pant has been appointed as the vice-captain.
The South African tour of India will begin on June 6th. The first match will be played on the same date in New Delhi.
