Indian women’s cricket team brought their rage against Pakistan after losing the first match against Australia in Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. From bowler to batters and fielder, every Indian player kept their best foot forward and precisely that the reason behind Pakistan’s epic failure in their second CWG 2022 match.

Pakistan women’s cricket team’s worst nightmare came true today when they got all out for just 99 runs. Both India and Pakistan played the second T20 match match at Edgbaston. And Indian bowling attack had not only shredded the Pakistan batting line up but Indian opener Smriti Mandhana broke the backbone of opponents’ bowling team.

The neighbors have posted a target of 100 runs for women in blue to chase. Pakistan’s Bismah and Maroof led their side well but the entire team got bowled out for just 99 in 18 overs. Indian bowlers Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav have bagged two-wicket hauls respectively.

The highest run scorer from Pakistan is Muneeba Ali with a knock of 32 runs off 30 balls. Pakistan had won the toss and decided to bat first. However the loss fail did upset the Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur-led but with the intend to bowl first, she was definitely looking for a chance to redeem herself after the three-wicket defeat against Australia in their campaign opener.

Another interesting fact is that both India and Pakistan had lost their first matches against Australia and Barbados. Women’s cricket had marked it’s debut in Commonwealth Games 2022. And it after 24 year’s that cricket has made hit’s comeback in the multi-sport event.

However, what came as a disappointment was, Pakistan’s performance. Having known that both India and Pakistan were a part of group A, fans from both the sides were expecting some fire but the neighbors seemed in a much underconfident mode. On the brighter side Indian team didn’t give any chance to their arch-rivals to get back into the game.

And keeping in mind, the former of Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma it is safe to say that India will finish the match within 15 overs.

Asia Cup wrangle pits Sri Lanka Cricket Board against Pakistan Cricket Board

The Pakistan Cricket Board and the Sri Lankan Cricket Board are not on the best of terms at the moment. The PCB is not happy with the Sri Lankan board for offering to host the Asia Cup and has refused to play a one-day international series in Sri Lanka.

Pakistan will tour Sri Lanka in July to play two Tests of the next ICC World Test championship. Apparently, the Sri Lankan Cricket Board had suggested that Pakistan play a few one-day international matches as they were positive the Sri Lankan team will book a spot for the ODI World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe. Hence, they would need more exposure before the event in October.

The PCB had initially said that they would consider the offer but refused it later. This sends a clear message that the PCB is not happy with the Sri Lankan Cricket Board’s proposal to host the Asia Cup as it was Pakistan’s turn to host the regional event.

PCB chief Najam Sethi was also upset with the response from the boards of Bangladesh and Afghanistan as well over the Asia Cup issue. Sethi had expected that Sri Lankan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan boards would convince the BCCI to go with the hybrid model as proposed by PCB.

The PCB chief did not refute media reports that the BCCI has rejected Sethi’s hybrid model and wants the tournament to be held in Sri Lanka. The bone of contention in the controversy is the Indian board is unlikely to send its team to play in Pakistan, though it has not formally announced the same, it has been making gestures to that effect.

A senior BCCI official said that there is absolutely no chance that Pakistan could hold the Asia Cup. The BCCI would like it if the ICC Champion’s Trophy is also moved out of Pakistan. According to reports, Sri Lanka was likely to hold the event. But the final decision will be made at the ACC meeting.

With strong relations between the BCCI and Sri Lanka Cricket, the BCCI wants the event to happen in Sri Lanka. At the next ACC meeting, the PCB chief will be conveyed the message.
