IPL 2023: Kane Williamson ruled out after suffering knee injury

Gujarat Titans’ Kane Williamson has been ruled out from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 after sustaining a severe knee injury, reports said. However, an official announcement from Gujarat Titans has not been made yet.
New Zealand’s white-ball skipper was a part of Hardik Pandya’s team and suffered the knee injury on Friday while trying to take a catch off a pick-up shot by Ruturaj Gaikward. The video of William’s injury was caught on camera wherein he could be seen holding his knee to the ground in pain for a few minutes.
The physios rushed to the pitch and carried him to the dressing room and he did not come back following which B Sai Sudharsan was sent as his substitute.
Hardik Pandya informed that the management is waiting for the scan reports. The GT captain also said he is unaware of how serious the injury is and how long it will take for Kate Williamson to recover, reports said.
After Williamson’s injury, three players who can replace him can be former Punjab Kings skipper David Miller, Australian wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade, and wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat.

The Asian Junior U20 Athletics Championships is a championship that is open to individuals who fall under the junior age bracket. Currently, the Asian Athletics Association presides over organising it.

Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni underwent a knee surgery on Thursday, after he was seen battling with a knee problem in the 16th season of the recently held IPL.

According to media reports, Dhoni was at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute on May 31, Wednesday, where he was admitted for his knee surgery and at 8 am on Thursday, the operation concluded successfully.
During this period, Dhoni met Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, who is a specialist in sports orthopedics as well as the director of sports medicine at the hospital. He is the same doctor treating Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant. Pardiwala also operated on Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra in 2019.
Last year at the end of December, Pant had a terrible accident near Uttarakhand’s Roorkee, while he was driving his car.
After his successful knee surgery, MS Dhoni was spotted in Mumbai, the picture is viral across the internet, spreading happiness to his fans.
In the viral picture, the former Indian cricket team captain can be seen sharing a South Indian meal with another person sitting next to him.

Earlier on Wednesday, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kashi Vishwanathan was also informed about Dhoni’s injury.
During the 16th edition of the IPL, one question that almost every cricket fan asked was about MS Dhoni’s future with CSK. To this, the Chennai CEO refuting any speculations said the team is not thinking in that direction as it has not reached that stage and it will entirely be Dhoni’s call, the team has not given a thought about it.
Dhoni, who quit international cricket on August 15, 2020, said after this year’s IPL final, he would take a call on his availability for the next edition of the tournament before the auctions.
