Ahead of Afghanistan’s encounter against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup on Friday, Afghanistan all-rounder, Rashid Khan urged the supporters of both teams to stay calm and just enjoy the game.

Khan urged his fans to not create chaos irrespective of the outcome of their match against Pakistan. He has also requested his fans and said just to take this event as a game and maintain the peace between the nations. Afghanistan’s contest against Pakistan should be enjoyed, and it is always good for them to play against their neighbours, he said to his fans.

The leg-spinner was speaking on the eve of the T20 World Cup match against Pakistan.

Last time, the two teams were met in the 2019 World Cup in Leeds where the fans of both teams were involved in ugly fights inside and outside the stadium.

During the match, an aircraft was spotted flying in the area that unfurled a Justice for Balochistan banner in the sky. A number of videos surfaced showing the violent clashes during the first half of the game, leading to their eviction.

Pakistan defeated the heavyweights of Group 2 India and New Zealand and will face stiff competition from Afghanistan, who won by 130 runs against Scotland in the first match.

Afghanistan will take on an unbeaten Pakistan side on Friday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan will take the field against Afghanistan on Friday after registering 10-wicket and 5-wicket victories against India and New Zealand in their opening two games.

On the other hand, Afghanistan had scripted a historic 130-run win against Scotland and will be no easy opponent for Pakistan.

Pakistan and Afghanistan are the top two teams in their groups, with four and two points respectively.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored his 17th Test half-century as he crossed 9000 runs in his Test career on Monday. The Indian skipper got off to a brilliant start on the 4th day of the Ranchi Test as the India chases a target of 192 runs against England. Earlier in the innings the Indian captain crossed the 4000-run mark in Test matches. In 58 Test matches, he has scored a total of 4,003 runs with an impressive average of 44.97, including 11 centuries and 16 fifties.

The Indian captain has been in lukewarm form throughout the Test series. His batting had been far more impressive in the Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam Tests. But Sharma came back into form as he hit a magnificent century agianst England in Rajkot. Earlier in the first innings of the Ranchi Test, he could manage just 2 runs.

England’s 2nd innings witnessed a collapse, reaching a total of 145 runs. Zak Crawley (60) and Johnny Barstow (30) showed some resistance, but Indian spinners dominated, with Ravichandran Ashwin (5/51) and Kuldeep Yadav (4/22) taking all 10 wickets.

In the first innings India posted 307 in response to England’s 353, with Yashasvi Jaiswal contributing significantly. Despite struggling at 219/7, an important partnership between Dhruv Jurel (90) and Kuldeep (28) helped India surpass the 300-run mark. Spinner Shoaib Bashir took a 5 wicket haul (5/119), Tom Hartley (3/68) and James Anderson (2/48) also made important contributions with the ball.

Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin continued to break records as he went past Anil Kumble’s record of most Test wickets in India in the third innings of the 4th Test in Ranchi on Sunday. Kumble had taken 350 wickets in 63 Test matches at home and Ashwin surpassed that mark after striking twice in two balls to dismiss Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope on Day 3 of India Vs England, 4th Test in Ranchi.

Duckett pushed at a delivery by coming forward and the ball popped up with Sarfaraaz Khan at forward short leg pulling off a simple catch. Pope on the other hand was struck on the back pad in front of the leg stump and a review could not save the Englishman with replays showing that the ball would have clipped the top of the middle stump.

Ashwin with the dismissal of Duckett, also reached 350 Test wickets in India. Ashwin’s tally now stands at 352 in 59 Tests. The ace Indian spinner who has been a part of Indian bowling for more than a decade keeps adding feathers of records to his cap as he becomes the first Indian cricketer to score 1000 runs with the bat and also take 100 wickets with the ball. Ashwin earlier in the series, had reached the 500 wicket mark, something that made him join Kumble and an elite of bowlers in Test Cricket.

Now with the wicket of Johnny Bairstow in the fourth test at Ranchi, he achieved another feat. Talking about Ashwin, he has a total of 351 Test wickets in India to his name. Ashwin has a total of 504 Test wickets with almost 75% of them coming at home. Ashwin is playing the 99th Test of his career with 59 of them on Indian soil.

Dhruv Jurel is standing like the last hope for India as he continues to provide momentum to the Indian team on Day 3 of Test Match in Ranchi against England. The youngster scored his maiden Test half century. After Kuldeep Yadav was dismissed, Jurel was joined by Akash Deep at the crease as 8 down India continue their fight against England.

The English bowling attack which consisted of Shoaib Bashir, James Anderson and others are looking to take some quick wickets for England to send back India to the pavilion. In the 4th Test Match at Ranchi the English team is already in the driver’s seat as they have scored 353 runs in their first innings.

After showing some cautious approach, Dhruv Jurel changed gears as he thrashed Shoaib Bashir. In the last over of the spinner, he smashed a six and a boundary as Bashir conceded 11 runs. The Indian team continues to give a strong fight to the English bowling attack.

Immediately after taking the second new ball, Jurel struck a boundary down the ground off Ollie Robinson. The shot was appreciated by head coach Rahul Dravid as well from the dressing room.  When Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav joined hands, India trailed England by 176 runs, and both of them brought it down to less than 100.

Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav batted well and added 76 runs for the 8th wicket, before Kuldeep Yadav was dismissed. Veteran cricketer Sunil Gavaskar appreciated Jurel’s knock and called the young keeper another MSD in the making.
