The National Cricket Academy awarded the Lucknow Super Giants skipper the fitness certificate in Bengaluru and will join the team in 2 days. The Lucknow Super Giants will start their campaign against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on Sunday.

The medical team of the BCCI has advised Rahul not to keep wickets in the initial stages of the tournament, and play as a specialist batsman. Sources in BCCI said KL Rahul is fit and can join the IPL franchise in the coming 2 days. He suffered pain in the quadriceps and got an injection too.

He went through his rehabilitation and the National Cricket Academy has declared him fit. But he has been advised not to take up the role of wicket-keeping immediately. Rahul complained of pain in the quadriceps after the Hyderabad Test match and was later ruled out from the rest of the series against England which got over recently.

The BCCI had initially claimed that KL Rahul has reached 90% match fitness and he is making steady progress under the supervision of the BCCI medical team. Later it was decided that they should consult a specialist in England. As a result Rahul went abroad to England for an expert opinion.

Shreyas Iyer who had missed out the last 2 days of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy finals due to back issues had also been declared fit to play the IPL  but on a condition. The Kolkata Knight Riders captain has been advised that he cannot lunge too much while playing the forward defense as this may worsen his injury.

According to reports Shreyas Iyer visited a spine specialist in Mumbai after getting consultation from the National Cricket Academy (Bangalore). The doctor has advised him fit to play but he should take precaution and needs to be cautious while stretching his leg.

Hardik said that he only likes to think on the things he can control, despite the fact that the fans’ feelings over the captaincy change conflict have occasionally been unpleasant.

He continued saying, he is going to bowl. Although he respects the feelings of fans, but there are things he cannot control. He said, he appreciate them, but he’ll concentrate on his duties as captain.

In response to a question about whether he and Rohit had spoken since the captaincy switch, Hardik said that the Hitman’s continues travels had prevented them from having a meaningful conversation.

Due to his trip, he has’t had much time to speak with Rohit. When he connects with the squad, he will undoubtedly catch up, he said.
