[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]US swimmer Sarah Thomas, today, September 17, became the first person to swim across the English Channel four times without stopping, refueling only on a liquid formula during her 54-hour feat, BBC reported.

The 37-year-old woman from Colorado started the epic task in the early hours of Sunday, September 15 and completed it in more than 54 hours on Tuesday (September 17) morning, the BBC reported. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]She performed her record-breaking swim a year after receiving treatment for breast cancer, and dedicated her achievement to fellow cancer survivors.

She came ashore on a beach near Dover, on the south coast of England, on Tuesday morning, September 17, exhausted and with a sore throat from all the salt water.

Speaking to the BBC after the epic feat, she said in a croaky voice, “I’m really tired and I’m losing my voice from all the salt water.”

On being asked about the worst part of it, she said “Probably dealing with the salt water over four days or two days, it really hurts your throat, your mouth and your tongue.”  But she added: “My crew was really great about helping me out and keeping me strong.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Thomas consumed only a liquid diet during her swim. Her support crew, following her in a boat, would throw her a bottle containing a mix of carbohydrates, electrolytes and some caffeine, with a little apple juice to improve the flavor.

“That’s what I ate most of the way,” she said.

“Every length had something that was really hard about it. Coming back from France the last time was definitely hard. It took forever and the current pushed me all over.

“I got stung in the face by a jellyfish and it wasn’t as cold as I thought it might be but it was still chilly.”

“There were a lot of people on the beach to meet me and wish me well. That was really nice of them, but I feel just mostly stunned right now, I just can’t believe we did it.”

“Hopefully I can sleep the rest of the day. I’m pretty out of it and pretty tired right now, for sure,” she said.

Only four swimmers had previously crossed the Channel three times without stopping. Before Ms Thomas no-one had ever completed a fourth leg.

Swimmer Lewis Pugh said in a tweet: “Just when we think we’ve reached the limit of human endurance, someone shatters the records.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Chennai Super Kings on the brink of IPL 2025 exit after loss-heavy run, Harbhajan Singh rules out playoff chances

Harbhajan Singh rules out CSK’s chances for IPL 2025 playoffs as the Dhoni-led side faces Punjab Kings in a must-win encounter at Chepauk.

Chennai Super Kings,

As the Indian Premier League 2025 enters its crucial phase, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) face a do-or-die situation in Match 49 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Chepauk. With just two wins in their nine games, CSK’s playoff hopes are hanging by a thread—so much so that former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has completely written them off.

Punjab opt to bowl as Chennai stare at elimination

In a high-stakes encounter, Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first, likely banking on the spin-friendly conditions of the Chennai pitch. The surface, previously used in the tournament, is notably dry with cracks and no grass cover. Former players Graeme Swann and Aaron Finch highlighted that spinners could dominate as the ball gets older, putting the onus on batters to make the most of the powerplay and early overs.

CSK’s poor form raises serious concerns

CSK, historically one of the most consistent teams in the IPL, has endured a forgettable season so far. With seven defeats from nine matches, the team finds itself near the bottom of the table. Each game from this point is a must-win for the five-time champions, yet the road ahead appears increasingly steep.

The IPL 2025 playoff predictor put CSK’s qualification chances at a marginal 0.24 per cent. However, Harbhajan Singh, speaking on the tournament’s official broadcast, minced no words and stated, “CSK have 0.00 per cent chance of making the playoffs.” Having once donned the yellow jersey himself, the veteran spinner’s assessment speaks volumes about the side’s current struggles.

Punjab Kings in playoff contention

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings continue to push their case for a playoff berth. With five wins from nine games, a victory over CSK tonight could propel them into the top two on the points table. This game, therefore, carries contrasting implications for the two sides—survival for Chennai, and elevation for Punjab.

Dhoni nears T20 landmark

In what could be a rare silver lining for CSK fans, captain MS Dhoni is on the verge of achieving another personal milestone. The veteran wicketkeeper-batter needs just four more sixes to reach the 350-mark in T20s. Among Indians, only Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav have surpassed this landmark. Globally, West Indies legend Chris Gayle continues to lead the six-hitting charts.

As CSK step out under pressure at Chepauk, fans will hope for a Dhoni special and a miracle comeback, even as the odds—and opinions—remain heavily stacked against them.

Mary Kom confirms divorce with husband, says its been nearly two years since they separated

Her achievements, including six world championships and an Olympic bronze, have made her a national hero, amplifying interest in her personal life.

Indian boxing icon and Olympic medalist Mary Kom has addressed swirling rumours about her personal life, confirming through a legal statement that she and her husband, Karung Onkholer, finalized their divorce on December 20, 2023.

The announcement, issued via her advocate, clarified that the separation was mutual, formalized under Kom Customary Law in the presence of family and clan leaders. The statement also firmly refuted speculation linking Mary Kom romantically to her business associate, Hitesh Choudhary, or to another boxer’s husband, urging media to cease spreading unfounded claims.

The statement read, “Ms. M.C. Mary Kom and Mr. Onkholer Kom are no longer married, having mutually agreed to divorce on December 20, 2023. Rumors of my client’s involvement with Mr. Hitesh Choudhary or any other individual are baseless and must not be propagated.”

Mary Kom shared the statement on social media, emphasizing her request for privacy and condemning intrusive reports. She highlighted that the divorce followed nearly two years of personal challenges, asking fans and media to respect her space during this sensitive period.

“Over the past two years, I have faced significant personal difficulties, particularly with my ex-husband,” the statement noted. “I urge my supporters and the public to grant me the privacy needed to navigate this phase.”

Mary Kom also warned of legal consequences, including defamation and privacy violation claims, against media outlets that continue speculative coverage. A prior press conference in Manipur had addressed these issues, reinforcing her stance.

Mary Kom’s dignified response underscores her resilience amid intense public scrutiny, a challenge often faced by high-profile athletes in India’s evolving media landscape.

Her achievements, including six world championships and an Olympic bronze, have made her a national hero, amplifying interest in her personal life. As she seeks to move forward, her call for respect highlights the need for boundaries in celebrity reporting, a growing concern in digital media. The boxing legend remains focused on her legacy, requesting discretion as she navigates this personal transition.

Champak magazine sues BCCI for naming robotic dog Champak over copyright infringement

Published

on

The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following a trademark infringement lawsuit filed by the publishers of Champak, a popular children’s magazine.

The dispute centers on the BCCI’s decision to name its AI robot dog, a viral sensation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, ‘Champak’. The court has directed the BCCI to submit a written response and summary within four weeks, with the next hearing slated for July 9.

The controversy erupted after the BCCI introduced the AI robot dog as a crowd-pleasing feature during IPL 2025. Delhi Press, the publisher of Champak magazine, contends that the name infringes on their registered trademark, prompting legal action. The robotic canine, unveiled via a promotional video on IPL’s social media platforms, made its official debut at the toss of Match 29 between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. Since then, it has become a beloved fixture, delighting fans and players alike.

The robot dog, seen interacting with players during practice sessions and appearing at pre-match tosses, has added a playful dimension to the IPL’s global broadcast. The BCCI named it ‘Champak’ following a fan poll on their website, where the moniker topped the votes, reflecting its cultural resonance. However, this choice has sparked legal scrutiny, as Champak magazine argues that the name capitalizes on its established brand identity.

The IPL’s innovative use of technology, including AI-driven fan engagement tools, aligns with the league’s efforts to modernize and expand its global appeal, drawing millions of viewers each season. Yet, this trademark clash highlights the complexities of branding in high-profile sports events. As the legal battle unfolds, the BCCI faces the challenge of defending its creative decision while maintaining the robot dog’s popularity.
