The country’s well-known female wrestler Vinesh Phogat, along with other top wrestlers, is protesting against the Wrestling Federation of India at Jantar Mantar on January 18. During this, she has accused the president of the federation, Brij Bhushan Sharan, of sexual harassment. At the same time, other wrestlers of the country also talked about arbitrariness on the federation. Apart from Vinesh Phogat, wrestlers like Bajrang Punia, Sangeeta Phogat, Sonam Malik and Anshu Malik also opened a front against the Indian Wrestling Federation.
Being an attacker against the federation, Vinesh said, now they would not bow down and will fight for their rights.

Vinesh’s career
Vinesh Phogat was born on August 25, 1994 in Charkhi-Dadri district of Haryana. She is the daughter of wrestler Rajpal Phogat. Other female wrestlers Geeta Phogat, Babita Phogat and Ritu Phogat are her cousins. There was an atmosphere of wrestling in the house from the beginning. That’s why Vinesh also tried her hand at wrestling.

In 2013, she won a silver medal in the 51 kg category at the Youth Wrestling Championship held in Johannesburg. In the same year, in the Asian Championship in New Delhi, she was successful in winning a bronze medal in the 51 kg weight category. After this, in the 2014 Asian Games held in Incheon, she won a bronze medal in the 48 kg weight category.
After this Vinesh never looked back again. She has so far won more than a dozen medals in various wrestling competitions. Vinesh is the first female wrestler of the country to win gold medal in Commonwealth and Asian Games.
