The case has been registered against Chatterjee at the Govindpur Police Station in Dhanbad.

Arup Chatterjee, the owner of the regional Hindi News Channel, was arrested in a case of extortion on Saturday. He is the owner of News11, which is based in Jharkhand. The journalist was arrested on Saturday night from his flat on Kanke Road. A case has been registered against Chatterjee at the Govindpur Police Station in Dhanbad.

The case has been filed by businessman Rakesh Kumar, who alleged that Arup Chatterjee ran false news against him on his channel and later demanded Rs 11 lakh through his reporter. He also claimed that the journalist used to threaten him with dire consequences if he failed to pay the extortion money.

Rakesh went on to say that despite having already paid him Rs 6 lakh, he continued to receive threatening calls from him and was being asked for additional ransom.

On the complaint by the businessman, the Dhanbad police team, along with the Gonda police team, raided Chatterjee’s apartment and arrested him on charges of extortion, blackmailing, and criminal conspiracy. After the complainant lodged an FIR against the owner, the court issued an arrest warrant against him.

Dhanbad SSP Sanjeev Kumar and his team, under the leadership of DSP Amar Kumar Pandey, arrested the owner under sections 193, 386, 418, 420, 468, 469, 500, 503, and 120B.

Further investigation is underway.

Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda while addressing a public meeting in Delhi’s Wazirpur, stated that the public is fed up with the work of the Aam Aadmi Party and has come to recognize and appreciate the work of BJP more. Nadda also added that the approval of the public will translate in favor of the BJP in the upcoming MCD elections.

BJP President in his address also launched an attack on the AAP and thwarted the AAP’s claims of having honest leaders by citing the example of AAP leader Satyendar Jain. He further added that Satyendar Jain is in jail because of corruption, suggesting that AAP has been lying to the public.

Nadda also remarked that the Aam Aadmi Party has opened a massage center in Tihar Jail and has turned a rapist into a therapist, implying the recent stir caused due to Satyendar Jain’s jail cell video. In the video Jain can be seen getting a massage by a fellow inmate who was convicted for charges of Rape.

Recently, AAP Leader, who is under judicial custody and has been facing charges of money laundering by the Enforcement Directorate, has taken over the news after his jail cell videos surfaced on the internet. The AAP leader has been getting special treatment in jail as videos of him show him using TV, getting massages, and even getting his jail cell cleaned by the house sweeping.

Satyendar Jain had recently requested a Delhi Court to be provided the prison administration with special fruit/ vegetable items which align with his religious beliefs. The court had dismissed his request by citing that they can’t give preferential treatment to anyone.

BJP had launched an attack on the AAP leader after the videos of him surfaced and BJP’s Shehzad Poonawala had also Tweeted and termed his jail to be a king’s courtyard for all the services that is being provided to Jain.

Yogi Adityanath calls Kejriwal a true supporter of terrorism

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday called the Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal a true benevolent of terrorism. Yogi even referred Kejriwal as namoona and said he was against the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

While addressing the rally in Gir Somnath, Bhavnagar, and Amraili, Yogi said AAP namoona (sample), who has come from Delhi, is a true supporter of terrorism. He said terrorism and corruption are part of AAP’s genes. Yogi urged people not to cast their votes for those who support terrorism and corruption.

In reference to terrorism in the country, he claimed that no one dares to look at India today since the Narendra Modi government has put an end to it. Today, the curfew in Gujarat was lifted, and the state was free of terrorism, Naxalism, and riots. In the past, Gujarat had daily riots and terrorist assaults, he added.

He also said that AAP was against the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and had also asked for proof when the Indian Army did a surgical strike in Pakistan. Yogi further said that the AAP government had abandoned people during the Covid-19 pandemic who had to rush to UP for treatment.

Kejriwal responded to Yogi’s namoona remark and said If you want dirty abuses, hooliganism, corruption, or dirty politics, then vote for them [BJP]. If you want schools, hospitals, electricity, water, roads, then vote for me [AAP].

The UP CM also took a dig at Congress during the rally in Amreli. He claimed that the absence of Congress’s brother and sister, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, from the Gujarat campaign demonstrated that they had already conceded defeat. Both Congress and the AAP can’t respect people’s faith, nor can they provide security, development, and prosperity to the nation, and should be rejected, he added.
