In the midst of the excitement and expectation for the impending Barbie movie, Katie Pennick, a Twitter user who is disabled, presented her “critical analysis” of Barbie’s wheelchair. One of the biggest blockbusters of the season is expected to be the Barbie movie, starring Ryan Gosling as her boyfriend Ken and Margot Robbie as Barbie.

Katie who uses a wheelchair to go around, shared her thoughts in a Twitter thread, she wrote, Barbie’s wheelchair vs my actual wheelchair: a critical comparison. She also said, it was the best Twitter thread that she’ve ever posted. She included two photographs in her tweet, one of herself in a wheelchair and the other of a Barbie doll in a wheelchair.

Katie began her comparison by pointing out that Barbie’s self-propelled manual wheelchair is made of flimsy plastic, which makes it simple to push but less sturdy than she would want.

She pointed out the difference in wheel diameters between Barbie’s wheelchair and her own as she continued her evaluation. She was taken aback by Barbie’s lack of camber, which could have improved stability and handling, and impressed by its larger wheels, which aid in efficiency when self-propelling.

When Katie revealed that her wheelchair is power-assisted, using sensors in the push rims and batteries contained in the central hubs, the differences between their wheelchairs became more obvious.

As she discussed the front castors of her wheelchair, Katie emphasised the necessity of having thicker rubber castors to prevent jolting while navigating uneven terrain.

Katie couldn’t help but congratulate Barbie on her sense of fashion in choosing to have her name painted on the back of her wheelchair. But since there was no obvious luggage, she jokingly wondered where Barbie kept her goods.

Katie said that she agreed with Barbie since they both dared to live on the edge and neither of their wheelchairs has anti-tip wheels.

In defence of the total, Ravi Bishnoi picked up 2 important wickets and gave just 37 runs and played a pivotal role for the Lucknow Super Giants.
