Dhoom director Sanjay Gadhvi dies due to heart attack at 57

Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Gadhvi, known for films like Dhoom and Dhoom 2 has passed away at the age of 57 due to heart attack. The Dhoom director reportedly experienced chest pain while he was out on a morning walk in Lokhandwala. 

He was sweating profusely and was hurried to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital where he was declared brought dead. Reports said that he suffered a heart attack during his walk. Sanjay Gadhvi’s funeral will take place in the evening.

His daughter Sanjina told PTI that the filmmaker was doing well. She said that Sanjay Gadhvi passed away at 9:30 am at his residence. She added that they are not sure what it is, but it is most likely a heart attack. She further said that the filmmaker was not unwell and was perfectly fine. 

Producer Boney Kapoor also confirmed Sanjay Gadhvi’s death and told Indian Express that Sanjay was at his house and collapsed after suffering a heart attack.

Director Kunal Kohli mourned Sanjay’s demise and expressed that the news is beyond shocking. Taking to social media platform X, Kunal Kohli wrote that he never thought he would have to write Gadhvi obituary. He recalled that both of them shared an office for many years at Yash Raj Films, lunch dubbas, discussions. He expressed that he will miss him and that the news is too hard to accept.

Filmmaker Sanjay Gadhvi had directed the blockbuster film Dhoom in 2004 and Dhoom 2 in 2006. He made his directorial debut with Tere Liye in 2000, which went unnoticed. Some of his notable projects include films such as Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Tere Liye, Kidnap, and Ajab Gazabb Love. He made his OTT debut in 2020 with Operation Parindey .

Reportedly, his breakthrough came in 2002 with Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, which starred Uday Chopra, Tulip Joshi, Jimmy Sheirgill and Bipasha Basu. Later, he directed movies like Kidnap, Ajab Gazabb Love and Operation Parindey.

Aamir Khan’s Sarfarosh completes 25 years, special screening to be held in Mumbai

With some of the greatest hits and blockbusters in film history, Aamir Khan is undoubtably one of the biggest superstars in the country. Now Aamir Khan’s 1999 release Sarfarosh celebrated its 25th anniversary on April 30, 2024.

Aamir Khan, his co-star Sonali Bendre, and other cast members will attend a special screening of the movie in Mumbai to mark the event.

Sarfarosh will have a special screening at PVR Juhu in Mumbai on Friday, May 10, 2024. Along with Mukesh Rishi, Naseeruddin Shah, Makarad Deshpandey, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rajesh Joshi, Smita Jaykar, Manoj Joshi, Upasna Singh, Surekha Sikri, Akhilendra Mishra, Akash Khurana, and many other, the film’s director John Matthew Matthan and music director Lalit Pandit will attend the event.

Aamir Khan’s 1999 film Sarfarosh is undeniably one of his best-loved productions, while some fans may have been too young when it was released in the theatres. Sarfarosh discusses issues like arms trafficking and cross-border terrorism, it was undoubtedly a groundbreaking movie.

In the film, after terrorists assault Aamir Khan’s family, he gives up on his medical education to play a vengeful police officer. Under the pseudonym Ajay Singh Rathod, he penetrates their network.

Khan has to negotiate a violent and perilous world of guns traffickers while working undercover with a tough Mumbai police officer, portrayed by Naseeruddin Shah. Action-packed and suspenseful, Sarfarosh delves into issues of sacrifice, patriotism, and the war against terrorism.

John Matthew Matthan, the director of Sarfarosh, stated in a recent interview that he stopped directing movies after a few because he wasn’t enjoying the process. However, he now wants to return with Sarfarosh 2.

In the same interview, the director revealed that he met Aamir Khan last week on the 25 anniversary of Sarfarosh, where the two decided to host a small get-together and do a special screening of the film for the cast and crew.

Laapataa Ladies actor Nitanshi Goel’s edited picture from Met Gala 2024 goes viral, social media reacts

Laapataa Ladies actor Nitashi Goel, who played the charater of Phool in the film, was also noticed on the Met Gala red carpet. The 17-year-old actor was featured in an edited photo, which was posted by Aamir Khan Productions’ official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

Nitanshi, who portrayed a bride in Laapataa Ladies, was seen wearing the same outfit on the red carpet in the photoshopped image. She had a maroon shawl draped over her shoulders, a basic red sari on, and a matching bindi on her forehead. She wore a long veil as part of her saree pallu.

Sharing the image on social media, the production company captioned the image, their Phool is blossoming in the garden of time. They futher added, watch Laapataa Ladies on Netflix India. The internet prasises her Met Gala debut.

One user said, Phool in her timeless shaadi ka joda (Indian bridal attire). My favorite phool of the season, another said. A third user said, from Surajmukhi to Met Gala journey of Phool Kumari is the next big thing and added a smiling emojis, praising her character’s journey in the film.

In response to the image, Nitanshi wrote, Met Gala 2024.

In the film, Nitanshi portrayed Phool, a young newlywed who goes missing. She discussed her preparation for the job. Since this is a 2001 story and she was born in 2007, she watched a lot of Bhojpuri woman’s videos like Sui Dhaaga, Balika Badhu, and other stories to see how the women are there. She had never seen that time period before, so she wanted to experience it at the audition. She wanted people to sense from her body language that she is narrating those women’s stories. Nitanshi, thus practiced wearing a veil and observing their body language. She wanted a sari outfit, she added.

Meanwhile, Laapataa Ladies tells the story of two young brides who were separated while traveling by train and what transpires when police officer Ravi Kishan decides to look into the missing case. The film is currently streaming on Netflix.

Jolly LLB 3: Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi starrer lands in legal trouble, accused of disrespecting judiciary

Jolly LLB 3, starring Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar, is reportedly facing legal issues a few days after the shooting of the film started. Jolly LLB 3 is the target of a complaint alleging that she compromised the judiciary’s integrity.

The District Bar Association President Chandrabhan allegedly filed a complaint against the film starring Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar, according to an NBT report.

The case brought against the actors, director, and producer of Jolly LLB 3 is scheduled for hearing today, according to the report. Citing the mockery of the legal system in the first two parts of the film, Chandrabhan also asked for the film’s shooting to be stopped.

The Bar President had concerns about how judges and legal experts were portrayed in the movie. It doesn’t fit with real-world situations, he said. He claims that this kind of portrayal damages the reputation of attorneys and the judiciary. The Bar President emphasized that the goal of the complaint is to make sure that these concerns are considered by filmmakers while they are in production.

Chandrabhan Singh Rath reportedly stated, this decision has been taken after watching the first and second parts of Jolly LLB, in response to the complaint, according to NBT. It appears that the performers, directors, and filmmakers have absolutely no regard for the honour and dignity of the nation’s judiciary.

He went on, they will be shooting Jolly LLB 3 for a few days in the villages and surrounding areas of Ajmer, including the district magistrate’s office. The reputation, dignity, and respect of the judiciary—including judges—seem to have been completely disregarded, even during the film’s production.”

While Jolly LLB 3 was being shshot in Ajmer, Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi recently posted a humorous video on social media.
