Deepika Padukone, Rashmika Mandanna, Trisha Krishnan, Karthi, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, and former cricketer Sourav Ganguly surprised the internet on Friday as they shared the news of their collaboration on social media.

The celebrities are all set to come together for a project Mega Blockbuster. They shared the poster and the trailer release date, which is September 4, on their respective social media handles.

While fans are intrigued about this multi-starrer project, Sourav Ganguly ruined the surprise after he shared the copy-pasted caption with the poster which mentioned the online shopping platform Meesho. The snapshot of the post shared by the former cricketer is doing rounds on the internet which asks Ganguly to ensure that the Meesho brand name or Meesho hashtag is nowhere mentioned in September 1 post.

However, it’s still not clear if Mega Blockbuster is an ad campaign or a film. After Sourav Ganguly’s post went viral, Twitter users reacted to it hilariously and Meesho also made it to Twitter’s trending list. One user wrote wondered if the former cricketer is managing his own paid promotion or if an unpaid intern is doing it. Another user wrote the whole campaign went down the drain.

Yet another user wrote Mega Blockbuster is not a secret anymore and the credit goes to Sourav Ganguly’s social media team. Others felt bad for Meesho as they must have worked hard to create the pre-buzz.

Last week, Meesho laid off 300 employees as the company shut down its grocery business. Reports say Superstore has been closed in more than 90 per cent of Indian cities except for Mysuru and Nagpur. The company has not issued any official statement regarding the move.

Television actor Sanchita Ugale, known for her appearances in Kumkum Bhagya, Wagle Ki Duniya and Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi, died by suicide at her residence in Nalasopara East near Mumbai on June 14. She was 22.

According to police officials, the incident took place at her home in Achole village, Nalasopara East. Authorities said Ugale had locked herself inside her bedroom and was later found hanging from a ceiling fan. Family members and local residents rushed her to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. Officials said inquiries are underway and the exact reason behind the incident has not yet been established.

Career across television, OTT and films

Ugale had built a growing presence in the entertainment industry through television, streaming projects and films. Apart from Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya, she played a lead role in Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi. She also appeared in OTT projects such as Crime Aaj Kal and Silence 2.

The actor was also associated with the film Chhaava, which contributed to her growing recognition among audiences.

Last social media post draws attention

Following news of her death, social media users shared and commented on Ugale’s final Instagram post, which had been uploaded hours before the incident. The post showed the actor in traditional attire lip-syncing to a classic Bollywood song. Fans expressed shock and grief after learning of her death.
