Tushar Kalia gets married to model Triveni Barman

Choreographer Tushar Kalia tied the knot with fiance and model Triveni Barman on 17 January after getting engaged with her last year. The news about the renowned choreographer getting hitched came to the fore after he shared the news with pictures and videos from his wedding with his wife on Instagram.

One of the faces in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and Dance Deewane, Tushar Kalia announced the news of him getting engaged with model Triveni Barman on 7 March last year, which coincidentally falls the same day as his birthday. Kalia, after a year of being engaged, finally got married to her fiance in 2023.

The newly-wedded couple picture shows the two of them holding hands and the shared post was captioned with a very short and brief caption which read blessed, implying that the choreographer was blessed to be married to his girlfriend.

Another video from the marriage ceremony was uploaded where Tushar and Triveni can be seen sharing a cute moment together as they kiss each other as Tushar dips Triveni and then goes on to kiss her on the stage. The video shows the couple’s friend cheering for them as they ask for the couple to kiss each other.

Tushar Kalia and Triveni Barman’s career

Tushar is a renowned choreographer, dancer and actor and is also the winner of Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 12. Aside from this, Kalia also participated in the 6th and 7th instalment of Jhallak Dikhla Jaa.

Triveni Barman was crowned Miss India-Assam in 2017 and since has done various modelling stints. She has also garnered a lot of love from her fans as she has turned into a social media influencer and enjoys a following of more than 1 Lakh people.

Blending historical terror incidents with a fictional revenge saga, the film explores India’s covert response to cross-border terrorism through the secret project ‘Dhurandhar’.

A brutal world built around revenge and espionage

Set around the IC-814 Kandahar hijack and the 2001 Parliament attack, Dhurandhar opens with Ajay Sanyal, an Intelligence Bureau officer played by R Madhavan, who strongly opposes releasing captured terrorists. Despite his resistance, bureaucracy prevails, setting the stage for the covert mission he later leads.

The project introduces its central weapon — Humza Ali Mazari, later revealed to be Jaskirat Singh Rangil — portrayed by Ranveer Singh with ferocity and emotional depth. Dropped straight into Karachi’s dangerous Lyari district, Humza navigates a nexus of gangs, politicians, and the ISI, with the narrative also touching upon tensions between local Pakistanis and Baloch communities.

Performances that elevate the film

Akshaye Khanna nearly steals the spotlight as a feared Lyari gangster inspired by Rehman ‘Dakait’ Baloch. Sanjay Dutt’s portrayal of SP Chaudhry Aslam brings an intimidating presence, while Arjun Rampal’s Major Iqbal leaves a lingering impact despite limited screen time.

Sara Arjun plays Yalina with conviction, and the film also features an unrecognisable Gaurav Gera in a surprise appearance.

Music, violence, and a split narrative

Shashwat Sachdev’s background score stands out, weaving classic Pakistani melodies with Indian retro hits to complement the film’s shifting tones. Viewers should be prepared for intense brutality, graphic torture scenes, and sudden shifts in narrative style — especially in a second half that feels markedly different from the first.
