As we have entered 2022, our hopes with the new year are to surprise us with everything good, and to keep the bad, weird and wicked away. Most of ours hopes might still be intact, but someone who gets traumatized on the very first day of the year might not feel so hopeful.

Chloe Walshaw, a teacher living in the United Kingdom earned a snail-scare for life, when she found a snail in her roast dinner. Chloe was with her boyfriend on January 1, 2022. She ordered two meals on Uber Eats from a restaurant by the name of Tipton’s Burnt Tree Island.

As they were feasting on their orders, Walshaw came across something that, in her words, left her physically sick and repulsed. While eating, Walshaw got some food on her fork. Wanting to eat some pea, she started digging down and found a snail. She was halfway through with her food. In complete shock, she spat all the food that she had in her mouth.

The teacher filed a complaint and received a refund from the restaurant. She asked for return after an employee from the restaurant asked her to get a refund from Uber Eats. They eventually received a £40 voucher besides the full refund. However, the experience completely put her off to an extent that she has vowed to never order from Toby Carvery Burnt Tree Island ever again.

Chloe Walshaw shared the entire incident online with a picture of her food. Social media users are extremely disgusted by this kind of a service.

After the snail-scare story went viral, the restaurant apologised. A spokesperson said sorry to Walshaw for not delivering a meal suitable to their usual high standards. They thanked her for sharing her feedback and welcomed the opportunity to make this right by offering a refund and holding an internal investigation regarding the matter.

Washington Sundar ruled out with hamstring injury

Sundar sustained a right hamstring injury during the second ODI against England at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. The injury has forced him to miss Sunday’s decisive encounter.
