Alaska Airlines suspends travel privilege for harassing Zuckerburg’s sister

Identity of the punished passenger was not disclosed yet.

Randi Zuckerberg posted her ordeal on Facebook on Wednesday, describing the sexual harassment caused by a fellow passenger during Alaska Airlines flight from Los Angles to Mazatlan, Mexico.

He even passed comments on the physique of the other female passengers.

Later she was quoted saying, “I just got off the phone with two executives from Alaska Airlines who informed me that they are conducting an investigation and have temporarily suspended this passenger’s travel privileges. While it should never have happened in the first place, I am thankful that they are taking the situation seriously.”

Randi wrote a letter of discontent to the airlines authorities demanding strict action against the accused person and posted the same on her face book page. She even mentioned that flight attendant did not heed to her complaint saying, “he (the accused) is a frequent flier” adding that he doesn’t have a “filter”. She further said that no action was taken by the airline staff. Instead she was offered to exchange her seat with another at the rear end of the plane.

But she had second thoughts at the last moment and considered, “Why should I move? I am the one being harassed!”

The Los Angeles-Mazaltan, Mexico  flight takes 2.40 hours and more than 100 flights operate every week between the two cities.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

The United States has proposed imposing additional tariffs on imports from India and 59 other economies after concluding that these countries have not taken sufficient steps to prevent the importation of goods allegedly linked to forced labour. The proposal was announced by the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) as part of an investigation conducted under Section 301 of the US Trade Act.

According to the USTR’s findings, India could face an additional tariff of 12.5% on goods exported to the United States. The proposed measure is part of a broader plan targeting 60 economies, with tariff rates ranging between 10% and 12.5% depending on the findings related to each country.

India among countries facing higher tariff proposal

The USTR said India had not effectively enforced restrictions on imports made using forced labour, describing the issue as a burden on US commerce. The agency argued that inadequate enforcement by major trading partners creates unfair competition for American workers and businesses.

While countries including Canada, Mexico, the European Union and the United Kingdom are proposed to face a 10% tariff, India is among a larger group of economies that could be subjected to a 12.5% duty under the recommendation.
