International Day of Happiness 2022: Know India's rank in World Happiness Index, THESE are the happiest and unhappiest countries

International Day of Happiness is celebrated every year on March 20 across the globe. The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network has released the 10th edition of the World Happiness Report. In the UN World Happiness Report 2022, India was ranked 136 out of 146 countries, up three points from last year’s ranking of 139 out of 149 countries. Pakistan is ranked 121 in the World Happiness Report.

According to the report, Finland has again topped the list as the happiest country in the world for the fifth time in a row followed by Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Afghanistan has been again ranked as the unhappiest nation in the world.

The World Happiness Report ranks 150 nations depending on multiple characteristics including real GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and corruption perceptions. Every year, each variable calculates a populated-weighted average score on a scale of 0 to 10, which is then tracked over time and compared to other countries. The report ranked 146 countries this year.

As the world reaches the third year of the outbreak, the report focused on looking back: how people and countries are faring in the midst of Covid-19, and how well-being is expected to change in the future.

An amusing story has come to light from Brazil where a man faked his own death in order to see who will turn up at his funeral. According to reports, the man had spread the fake news about his death to his relatives and friends with the intention to find out who will come.

The incident according to reports started earlier this month but concluded on 18 January after his funeral.

According to reports, the 60 year old man had shared the news of his death on his social media after which even his last rites were conducted. The Brazilian man single-handedly concocted the plan. The man had been conducting last rites ceremony in his career which was the reason why he could solely depend on himself to carry out the plan.

The man identified as Balthazal Lemos, earlier this month, had shared the false news of his Facebook by sharing a status that read that Balthazar Lemos had parted from the world. After Lemos’s post, his family were taken aback by shocking learnings.

After learning about the death of Lemos, his nephews rushed to the hospital to find out what happened that led to his death. However, the situation took an awry turn as the hospital staff denied recollection of Lemos being admitted to the hospital.

The friends of the Brazilian man also chimed in and shared the news and asked for the cause of death, however, no explanation was given out. Instead of telling about the cause of death, the location and time of the funeral was shared, directing the people to attend the funeral ceremony.

At the funeral procession, which was organised in a small chapel at Lemos’ hometown, the friends and family of the man showed up to offer their condolences and bid their last good-byes to the man. However, Lemos’ voice startled the guest as he announced himself to the people which led to many people shedding tears.

Lemos rose up from his coffin bed after opening the gate and stood tall in front of all the guests. The Brazilian man after rising up told the people why he did what he did after which many were agitated by his somewhat harmless joke and accused him of hurting their sentiments.

Where on one hand Pakistan is drowning in the pit of poverty, but still on the core of it, it’s ministers are not desisting from rhetoric. The latest case is that of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar who has started playing the religious card to reduce the resentment of the people of the country.

Pakistan is the only country founded in the name of Islam and Allah is responsible for its development and prosperity, said Pakistan Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said on Friday, as the cash-strapped country faced a serious payment crunch.

If Allah can create then he will also protect

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Green Line Express train service, the senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said he is confident that Pakistan would progress as it was formed in the name of Islam. Dar said that if Allah can create Pakistan, he can also protect, develop and prosper it. The Finance Minister added that they are trying their best to improve the condition of Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The politician is being severely trolled on social media for his bizarre statement. While some reminded him his oath, rest wrote that god will only help the people if the people in power will help themselves.

Moreover, Dar didn’t stop there, holding Pakistan’s present plight responsible for the drama that started five years ago, Ishaq Dar said that the people of Pakistan are still suffering. He said before this drama, Pakistan’s economy was in good condition during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure of 2013-17.

Pakistan was on the path of progress under Nawaz’s rule, Dar

Dar said that Pakistan was on the path of progress under Nawaz’s rule but it was derailed. People can see the devastation the country has faced in the last five years. In the absence of foreign exchange, Pakistan is left with no currency to pay even for the purchase of essential commodities. To deal with this problem, he is looking for an economic package from several institutions including the International Monetary Fund.
