With birth of 8000 millionth child, world population hits 8 billion

The UN report on population states that by 2050, more than half of the population will be in just eight countries.

The 8000 millionth child has taken birth in the world and with this the world population has become 8 billion (800 crore).

According to the site https://www.worldometers.info/, which tracks the population in real time, this child was born at around 1:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon.

It was also estimated in the UN Report on Population that on November 15 , 2022 the world’s population would be 800 crores.

The worth mentioning fact of this figure, of increase in population, is that the world population has increased by 200 crores in the last 24 years. The world population was 600 crore in 1998, which increased to 700 crore in 2010. In the next 12 years i.e. 2022, there was a spike of 100 crores in the population and on November 15, 2022 the 8000 millionth child was born in the world.

Data on the world’s population is available since the time of Christ’s birth, i.e., we can see the increase of population in more than two thousand years.

It took 1,800 years for the population to reach 100 crores

These figures make it clear that the world’s population at the time of the birth of Christ was close to 200 million. It took about 1,800 years to reach 100 crores. After that, it took only 130 years for the world to reach from 100 crores to 200 crores.

With betterment in health services, 100 crore children were born in 14 years

Health services improved rapidly with the Industrial Revolution. As a result, the number of children born and women who died at the time of delivery decreased. Simultaneously, the increase in population accelerated. In the next 30 years, the population of the world increased from 200 crores to 300 crores, while in just 14 years the population reached 300 crores to 400 crores.

There will be 850 crore humans on earth in the next 18 years

If you look at the latest trends, in just 12 years, the number of humans on earth has increased from 700 crores to 800 crores. According to UN estimates, by 2030, the world’s population can reach 850 million. However, the UN has also said that for the first time since 1950, the rate of population growth has declined by one percent in 2020.

After 28 years 50% of the world’s population will be in 8 countries

The UN report on population states that by 2050, more than half of the population will be in just eight countries. These include Pakistan, Philippines, Egypt, Congo, Nigeria, Tanzania and Ethiopia, including India. The UN has also projected 61 countries whose population will decline between 2022 and 2050. Most of these countries will be from Europe.

At present, the population of 46 countries is growing the fastest, of which 32 countries are in sub-Saharan Africa.

India’s population can exceed that of China in 2023

The population estimate released by the UN on July 11, 2022, on World Population Day, said that by 2023, the population of India could exceed the population of China. With this, India will become the most populated country in the world.

At present the population of China is 1.426 billion and that of India is 1.412 billion. It is believed that the population of India is going to increase to 1.429 billion in 2023. Also by 2050 this figure will reach 1.668 billion. China’s population is estimated to have declined to 1.317 billion by the middle of the century.

A video has been making rounds on the internet where a Sikh shopkeeper can be seen fending away men trying to rob his shop. The video is reported to be from a shop in London. The video, so far has been viewed by 61 thousand people.

In the video, several masked men can be seen entering and browsing through the shop as the Sikh man approaches the counter. However, things take an awry turn as one of the masked men try to jump over the counter. The Sikh man can then be seen reaching for his Kirpan, after which the Robber’s retire.

The Sikh man can be seen alarming and screaming at the masked men as they run out of the store and lurk on the gate in a bid to intimidate. However, the Sikh man then can be seen rushing towards his cabinet and pulling out a cricket bat.

Upon witnessing the Sikh shopkeeper pulling out a bat, the robbers flee from the place. He can then be seen rushing toward the gate to lock it in a bid to stop them from attacking again.

After the video of the incident went viral, many users came forward to add their take on the incident as one user wrote praised the Sikh man for being brave, implying that the Sikh man fending away 3 robbers from his shop is a brave act.

One user highlighted how the robber who tried to jump over the counter had a change of heart after witnnessing the Sikh man pulling out a weapon. The user further praised the Sikh man for his braveness.

One user wrote that the robbers fled even before the Sikh man could take out his Kirpan. The user further wrote claimed that the robbers must have thought that the Sikh man was armed and was pulling out a gun.

In the video, a man can be seen sitting in a stream with his partner as he goes on to offer a piece of grilled sandwich to an alligator, unfazed by the thought of getting eaten by the feral animal. The man can be seen feeding the alligator with the sandwich and then petting it as well.

Pakistani journalist Naila Inayat took to Twitter to share a post that read that prices of bananas shoot to Rs.500/Dozen in Pakistan.

Apart from bananas, prices of other fruits including grapes have also increased during the Islamic festival celebrated across the world.

Pakistan’s economic crisis is worsening with each passing day with prices of basic vegetables and fruits rising up continuously. The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics said the inflation based on sensitive price indicators was recorded at 47 per cent year on year on March 22.

A report in Mint said the prices of onions in the country increased by 228.28 per cent, wheat flour by 120.66 per cent, cigarettes by 165.88 per cent, gas charges for Q1 by 108.38 per cent, and Lipton tea by 94.60 per cent. Bananas’ prices have spiked by 89.84 per cent, diesel by 102.84 per cent, eggs by 79.56 per cent, and petrol by 81.17 per cent.
