Covid-19: Maharashtra asks all private offices to works at 50% capacity, Punjab shuts schools, colleges till March 31

According to the health ministry,Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka and Gujarat are the worst hit states by the covid-19 that have recorded the highest coronavirus cases in the country. .

With a sudden surge in covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, the state government has issued a ordered in which it asked all the theatres, auditoriums and offices to function at 50 percent of their capacity till March 31. However, the manufacturing sector has been allowed to function in full capacity.

Order said, all the organisation, needs to make sure their staff members follow all the covid-19 norms, wearing mask and maintain proper distancing.

The state government banned all the religious places, political rallies, drama theatres till Martch 31.

The order comes a day after when Maharashtra has witnessed 25,883 new coronavirus cases on Thurdsay, which is highest single-day spike of 2021. Earlier,  the state has witnessed 24,886 in mid September in 2020.

Maharashtra is one of the worst hit state that has witnessed a huge rise in covid-19 cases.Accordig to the healh ministry data, the state had been reporting 3,000 cases per day.

Cities like Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur and Nashik has reported the highest covid-19 cases recently. Meanwhile Pune is one of the worst affected district in the state that has reported the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country. on Thursday, Nagpur has reported 4,973 new cases.

Punjab government has also odered on closing of all the schools and colleges till 31 March. However, Medical colleges, will remain functional.

Punjab health minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the state seeing a sudden rising of covid-19 cases due to which the state government is taking tough steps to control the situation.

Chief Minister of Punjab Capt Amarinder Singh asked all the government and private hospitals to continue vaccination administration 7 days a week and 8 hours per day.

India has recorded nearly 40,000 fresh covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which is the highest daily-rise since November 29.

India’s Covid tally stands at 1,15,14,331 with 154 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total number of fatalities to 1,59,370.

According to the health ministry,Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka and Gujarat are the worst hit states by the covid-19 that have recorded the highest coronavirus cases in the country. .

As the 3rd phase of the 7-phase 18th Lok Sabha elections began on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the INDIA Alliance and claimed that Opposition parties are contesting elections to save their dynasty and that their alliance was not at all bothered about the welfare of the people. PM Modi was addressing a rally in Khargone where he claimed that the BJP government has given Madhya Pradesh a new and prestigious identity by rectifying the shortcomings left behind by the Congress.

PM Modi stressed that India is at a crucial moment in history and urged people to choose between vote jihad or the establishment of Ram Rajya. The distinction came during the Prime Minister’s continuing attack against the Congress and other Opposition parties over their alleged intent to appease their Muslim vote bank.

He said the opposition parties are contesting elections to save their inheritance and hand over their party to their children. They do not care about the happiness of the people. He further added that the INDIA alliance is not bothered about the fate of the masses.

PM Modi took a dig at the opposition and said there is a saying that applies to INDI people: Apna kaam banta, bhaar me jaye janta (do your work and let the people go to hell). Prime Minister Modi said that the votes of the people helped 250 million Indians to come out of poverty, and he believed India is progressing because of collective effort by everyone.

He further added that 1 vote of theirs has made India the 5th largest economy and has increased India’s global influence, helped in removal of Article 370 after 70 years, made an Adivasi daughter the President of india and given reservation to women, sent the corrupt people to jail and the guarantee of free ration and treatment.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge cast his vote at a polling booth in Kalaburagi, Karnataka on Tuesday. After casting his vote the Congress leader predicted a landslide victory for the grand old party in Karnataka and said he had no doubt about it.

The second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka is undergoing in 14 constituencies. The 81-year-old leader of the INDIA Alliance was accompanied by his wife Radhabai Kharge to a polling station at Basavanagara. While speaking to the media the Congress President said things are good, good reports are coming from everywhere. He said  Allinace partners  are getting strength in this 3rd phase (nationally). He said definitely in this phase of elections the INDIA Alliance will get good support from the people.

Kharge said he has been voting from Basavanagara in Kalaburagi since he became eligible for voting at the age of 21. He said he never got his polling locality changed. When he became Minister, when he became opposition leader in Parliament, he never forgot Basavanagara. He said the people here have given him love and affection and helped him in developing his leadership. He said he was grateful to the poor people who stood by him. He said he would always stand by them.

Kharge’s son in law Radhakrishna Doddamani is the Congress candidate from Gulbarga (Kalaburagi) Lok Sabha segment, which the Congress leader has represented twice in 2009 and 2014 but lost the election in 2019. BJP has fielded Umesh G Jadhav from the Kalaburagi constituency.

The 14 Lok Sabha constituencies where elections are underway on Tuesday are Shimoga, Davangere, Uttara Kannada, Dharwad, Haveri, Bellary, Koppal, Bidar, Raichur, Gulbarga, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Belgaum and Chikkodi. Karnataka has 28 Lok Sabha constituencies. The first phase of polling in the other 14 seats in most of the southern and coastal districts was held on April 26.

Salman Khan firing case: Mumbai Crime Branch arrests fifth accused

The Mumbai Crime Branch on Tuesday made its fifth arrest in the case regarding firing at Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra.

The Mumbai Crime Brand made its fifth arrest in relation to gunfire at the Bandra home of Bollywood celebrity Salman Khan, on Tuesday. Mohammed Chaudhary, the fifth accused in the case, was taken into custody by Rajasthan police.

The inquiry indicates that on Sunday, April 14, at Galaxy Apartments, Muhammad Chaudhary assisted the two gunmen who have since been detained in carrying out the shooting event. It is said that Chaudhary gave the two shooters money and assisted them in scouting the crime scene.

Chaudhary is being brought to Mumbai today where he will be produced in the court and a demand for custody will be made, the Mumbai Crime Branch said in a statement.

Chaudhary’s arrest coincides with the continuing investigation into the shooting incident that shook Mumbai’s Bandra neighborhood. This arrest adds a new dimension to the intricate network of people connected to the attack on Salman Khan’s home.

On April 14, two attackers riding a bike opened fire outside Salman Khan’s residence, the Galaxy Apartments. Before leaving the area, the two also fired rounds in the direction of Khan’s flat. After the two gunmen were captured by the police, their ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang came to light.

However, the case took a dark turn when Anuj Thapan, one of the gun suppliers, passed away. On May 1, Thapan was found dead in his cell, perhaps from a suicide. According to Mumbai Police, Thapan tried suicide while in custody and was declared dead after being taken to the hospital.

An important development in the inquiry was revealed by Anuj Thapan’s arrest on April 26, which illuminated the network that supplied the attack’s perpetrators with firearms.

However, the Thapan’s family has moved the Bombay High Court seeking a CBI probe into his death.
