The application process for the Institute of Charted Accountants of India, ICAI CA January 2022 has begun. ICAI has released admit cards for the following examinations- Foundation, Intermediate (IPC), Intermediate, Final (Old), and Final (new). Today, December 19, 2021, is the last date for registration.

Here is how you can apply-

  • Head to the ICAI’s official website.
  • From the home page, click on Important Announcements button
  • Click on “Re-opening of Online Filling up of Examination Application Forms for Chartered Accountants – Information Systems Audit, Assessment Test, 8th January 2022. – (16-12-2021)”, or directly click the following link.
  • Enter the details.
  • Fill the application form and make the payment as the last step.
  • Submit the application.
  • Candidates are adviced to get the application fee printed out for future.

What is the eligibility criteria and dates for ICAI Exam 2022?

CA Foundation course-

  • Candidates should have passed Class 12 from Central or State Boards of Education, or equivalent examination.
  • Candidates should be registered with Board of Studies. The last date for registration is June 30.
  • Changed to CA Foundation Course with Board of Studies of ICAI on or before September 7 of the examination year.

Exams 1, 2, 3, and 4 will be held on December 13, December 15, December 17, and December 19, respectively.

CA Intermediate Course-

  • Candidates should clear Foundation or equivalent examination.
  • Candidates should register for previous Intermediate according to syllabus under Schedule B or Professional education’s paragraph 2 or 2A.
  • Candidates should have a graduation or post-graduation degree from any recognized Indian institute.

CA Intermediate Exam Papers under the old scheme for Group 1 were held on December 6, December 8, December 10, and December 12, For Group 2, exams will be held on December 14, December 16, and December 18. These will be for Opt-Out students.

CA Intermediate Exam Papers under the New scheme for Group 1 were held on December 6, December 8, December 10, and December 12, For Group 2, exams will be held on December 14, December 16, December 18, and December 20. These will be for Opt-Out students.

CA Final Course-

  • Candidates should clear the Intermediate examination or Professional Education Examination II/PCC/IPCC.
  • Candidates should complete article training as on the date of form filling of three years or three-and-a-half years.
  • PE-II stream students an PE-II stream students converted to IPCC must have completed the past twelve months of article training, including any leaves, and be scheduled to finish three years by October 31 of the examination year.
  • PCC stream students must have completed the last six months of article training, including leaves, and be awaiting completion of three-and-a-half years by April 30 of the year of examination.
  • IPCC students must have completed the last six months of training, including any excess leave, and must have completed three years by April 30 of the examination year.
  • PCC students that convert from PE-II and IPCC students that convert from PE-II to PCC must have completed the previous twelve months of training, including any unpaid leave, and must finish three-and-a-half years of articles by October 31 of the examination year.
  • Terminated candidates should register again for remaining training time.

CA Final Exam Papers under the Old scheme for Group 1 will be held on December 5, December 7, December 9, and December 11. For Group 2, examinations will be held on December 13, December 15, December 17, and December 19. These will be for Opt-Out students only.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Class 10 results for 2026, along with key guidelines for students who wish to appear in the second board examination under the newly introduced two-exam policy.

As per the updated system aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, students now have an opportunity to improve their performance in selected subjects through a second exam scheduled later in the same academic year.

Who is eligible for second board exam

CBSE has laid down specific conditions for students to appear in the second board examination:

  • It is mandatory for students to appear in the first board exam
  • Students must have appeared in at least three subjects in the main exam
  • Those who have passed can opt for improvement in up to three subjects
  • Students in the compartment category are also eligible to appear
  • Improvement is allowed only in subjects already taken in the first exam

The second exam allows students to improve marks in subjects such as Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and languages.

Who is not eligible

Certain categories of students will not be allowed to appear in the second board exam:

  • Students who did not appear in three or more subjects
  • Those who failed in three or more subjects
  • Students placed in specific non-eligible categories by the board

Such students will have to reappear in the next main examination cycle instead.

Important rules students must note

CBSE has also clarified several important rules:

  • Change of subjects is not permitted in the second exam
  • No corrections in student data will be allowed
  • Schools will submit the list of candidates for the second exam
  • Students can improve performance in a maximum of three subjects

The board aims to reduce exam pressure and give students flexibility to improve scores within the same academic year.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the Class 10 and Class 12 board exam results for 2026 soon, although an official date and time have not yet been confirmed.

As per the latest updates, Class 10 results are likely to be declared before the last week of April, while Class 12 results may follow by the second week of May. The earlier timeline is being considered due to the introduction of a second examination phase scheduled in May this year.

This year, Class 10 results are expected to be released first, followed by Class 12 results.

Over 40 lakh students await results

The CBSE board exams for 2026 began on February 17. Class 10 exams concluded on March 11, while Class 12 exams ended on April 10.

More than 43 lakh students appeared for the exams this year, including around 25 lakh in Class 10 and over 18 lakh in Class 12, making it one of the largest school-level examinations in the country.
