English opener Alex Hales played at a strike rate of 183 while Captain Jos Buttler accompanied him on the crease at a strike rate of 163. Both the batsmen made no mistake and chased down the target very easily.

England dominated the entire match. India remained under pressure while batting and during bowling as well. The bowlers lost their courage after the 10th over and no spirit to fight was visible among them.

Earlier, team India recovered from a shaky start to record 168/5 with to the 50s from Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya. India was put in to bat, and after a sluggish start in which the opener, KL Rahul, was gone early, Kohli managed to keep the innings together and hammer his fourth 50 of the competition. However, it was Pandya’s brilliant knock that helped India reach its goal.

India might be out of the mission Melbourne club but neighbour Pakistan will play the final clash against England at Melbourne cricket ground on Sunday.

With this, the world will finally witness another country winning T20 title for the second time, apart from West Indies.

For the unversed, England won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2016 whereas Pakistan won in 2009 after losing the finals of the inaugural season to team India.
