Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty are finally coming joining hands on the silver screen again after 16 years for Heri Pheri 3. In a recent interview, Sunil Shetty revealed updates about the film. The first time Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal got together was in 2000 for Hera Pheri’s first film while their second collaboration was in 2006 for Hera Pheri 2. The trio is set to unite again on the big screen after 16 years for the highly anticipated Hera Pheri 3. Interestingly, Sanjay Dutt will also be a part of it.

In a recent interview, when Sunil Shetty was asked about Hera Pheri 3, he said that they have shot for the promos. They are waiting for the film to take off and he has his fingers crossed. He hopes that everything goes well.

While talking about his co-stars Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. He endearingly said that Paresh Ji and I are very, very close. Akki (Akshay Kumar) and I are really close and we might not meet everyday but we are very tight. He also called Akshay the fittest actor in Bollywood.

Reminiscing about their iconic comedy, he said that they didn’t realise 16 years had gone by and he believes that it is quite beautiful that they are coming back together for Hera Pheri 3. As for the concept, He said that all he knows is that it’s a great script and it shows the emotional journey of the three guys and their struggles and keeping in Baba (Sanjay Dutt), it should be fun.

Earlier, he had written a long post on social media about the film with a description of the processes involved in the business of filmmaking. He posted on Linkedin, saying that Hera Pheri 3 is finally happening and that he looks forward to being back on set with Paresh Ji and Akki (Akshay). Adding that this one took time like all good things do and it’s a relief to finally have an answer. He explained that though films are a major part of the culture, people usually don’t understand the process that goes into making them. He said besides the creative obstacles, the business model and its needs also adds to the complications. He said there are several aspects that make it a bit challenging.

Meanwhile, Paresh Rawal talked about how the film’s characters will be going global in the third film travelling to Dubai and California. This film will be directed by Farhad Samji.

His clarification came after his name had been circulating in discussions about possible contestants for Bigg Boss 20.

Bhagirath Bhatt is known for his work as a sitarist and music composer. According to the report, he has worked on films including Padmaavat, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Border 2.

Batwara 1947 has had a disappointing run at the box office, and actor Shabana Azmi has now shared her thoughts on why the film may not have connected with audiences. According to Azmi, one possible reason could be the difficulty some viewers had in accepting Sunny Deol as a Muslim character.

The film, which also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi, was released on August 14. It has reportedly earned around Rs 53 crore so far, while Awarapan 2, which released on the same day, has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.

Discussing the film’s response, Shabana Azmi questioned whether audiences were able to accept Sunny Deol in a Muslim role.

She compared the situation with Amitabh Bachchan’s earlier performances in which he portrayed Muslim characters. Azmi pointed to Deewaar, where Bachchan’s character is associated with the number 786, and said such portrayals had been accepted by audiences.

Azmi also suggested that there may have been confusion among some viewers about Sunny Deol’s character in Batwara 1947. She said that even some people who had watched the film believed Deol was playing a Pakistani character, whereas, according to her, he plays an Indian Muslim.

Azmi said she was surprised by the contrast between the appreciation she had heard from people who watched the film and its weak theatrical performance.

According to her, viewers who discussed the film with her had praised its message of humanity, but that appreciation did not translate into enough people going to theatres.

She also questioned whether audiences were uncomfortable with the film’s India-Pakistan subject. Azmi maintained that the film’s message was not politically incorrect and praised Sunny Deol’s performance.

The poor performance of Batwara 1947 has become more noticeable because the film released alongside Awarapan 2. While Batwara 1947 has struggled commercially, Awarapan 2 has performed significantly better at the box office.
