Berozgar Neta: AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj launches YouTube channel after Delhi election loss

Saurabh Bharadwaj launching YouTube channel after Delhi election loss.

In a surprising turn of events, former Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj has entered the digital world as a YouTuber following his defeat in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. Bharadwaj, who lost the Greater Kailash seat to BJP’s Shikha Roy, launched his YouTube channel named “Berozgar Neta,” which translates to “unemployed politician.”

A new beginning after election loss

In his inaugural video, Bharadwaj explained how the outcome of the 2025 Delhi elections, announced on February 8, turned his life upside down. He shared how his electoral defeat has made him “unemployed” and vowed to use his new platform to communicate directly with the public.

“The Delhi results have changed many lives, and my life has flipped 180 degrees,” he said in the 58-second clip. “Leaders like us have become unemployed. People have been calling and messaging me, and I want to share how life changes after an election loss. I’ll also try to respond to your queries.”

Bharadwaj’s YouTube channel, which has already attracted about 52,000 subscribers, promises to be a space for open dialogue, as he plans to discuss a different topic every day. He also encouraged his audience to share their suggestions and actively participate in the conversations.

A politician’s journey to YouTube

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bharadwaj announced his digital debut, stating, “From tomorrow I am coming among you on a new platform! Now you can also join me on YouTube, where we will discuss a new topic every day. You can also share your suggestions. See you tomorrow on a new journey with our first video!”

Bharadwaj, a former three-time MLA from Greater Kailash, held multiple portfolios in the Delhi government, including home, health, water, industries, transport, and power. His defeat in the 2025 elections came as part of a larger trend, with several prominent AAP leaders, including party chief Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, also losing their respective seats.

Election fallout and AAP’s defeat

The 2025 Delhi Assembly elections saw the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) securing 48 of the 70 seats, bringing an end to AAP’s 27-year-long rule in the capital. AAP, which had dominated the Delhi government under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, managed to win only 22 seats.

For Bharadwaj, the journey from being a prominent leader in the Delhi government to now engaging with the public through YouTube marks a significant shift in his political career. While many former AAP leaders are grappling with the election results, Bharadwaj is opting for transparency and direct communication with his audience.

Conclusion

Bharadwaj’s move to YouTube may provide him with a new way to connect with his supporters and the wider public. As his channel grows, it could offer a glimpse into the life of a politician post-election loss, and perhaps reshape the way political leaders engage with their constituents in the digital era.

Centre withdraws order on mandatory Sanchar Saathi pre-installation after protests

The government has withdrawn its order making the Sanchar Saathi app mandatory on smartphones, following two days of intense criticism from opposition leaders and civil rights groups over privacy concerns.

The Centre has reversed its directive that required all smartphone manufacturers to pre-install the Sanchar Saathi cybersecurity app, following backlash from opposition leaders, civil rights groups and users who raised concerns over privacy and potential misuse.

Government cites rising downloads, public feedback

According to the government, the order was rolled back as user downloads had surged — with over six lakh installations within 24 hours and 1.4 crore total users. Officials said the mandate was originally intended to push wider adoption, but public feedback prompted a re-evaluation.

The official statement reiterated Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s earlier assurance in Parliament that the app is deletable and does not enable snooping. The minister emphasised that in a democracy, every user has the right to remove applications they do not wish to use.

Opposition slams move, flags privacy concerns

Several opposition leaders criticised the initial directive, claiming it risked turning the app into a surveillance tool, echoing earlier privacy controversies. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra called the decision “ridiculous”, while Karti Chidambaram compared the mandate to practices in authoritarian countries. Leaders from other parties also raised objections, describing it as a move that could compromise personal data.

What the Sanchar Saathi app offers

Sanchar Saathi, developed by the Department of Telecommunications, is designed to help users secure their digital identities, report suspicious activity and access cyber safety awareness material. It is available both as a mobile app and a web portal. The government maintains the app has no function beyond safeguarding users from cyber threats.

AI video row erupts as Congress leader shares clip showing PM Modi as chaiwala

A fresh row erupted in the Winter Session after Congress leader Ragini Nayak shared an AI-generated video showing PM Modi serving tea, prompting criticism from the BJP.

A political controversy has intensified during the ongoing Winter Session after Congress leader Ragini Nayak posted an AI-generated video depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi serving tea. The video, shared late last night, has triggered sharp reactions from the BJP and is expected to further disrupt parliamentary proceedings.

AI-generated clip draws criticism

The video shows the Prime Minister carrying a kettle and glasses at what appears to be an international event. PM Modi has often spoken publicly about helping at his father’s tea stall during his childhood, a point that has previously sparked political jibes during election seasons.

The latest post from Nayak has revived that contentious theme, drawing criticism from senior BJP leaders who called the video “insulting” and reflective of a “depraved mindset”.

BJP terms the post an attack on hardworking Indians

BJP leader CR Kesavan said the post was offensive to millions of hardworking citizens and accused the Congress of targeting the OBC community.

He also alleged that Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, “cannot accept” PM Modi’s rise through “hard work and dedication”, contrasting it with what the BJP calls the “entitlement” of Congress leadership.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said the party had mocked the Prime Minister’s background earlier as well and claimed such remarks would not be forgiven by the public.

Row likely to disrupt Winter Session

The controversy has surfaced at a time when the Opposition is preparing to corner the government on issues including the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists. With a heavy legislative agenda planned by the Centre, the latest political storm is likely to further heighten tensions in Parliament.
